Privacy is big business these days. social networks like Facebook e Twitter are in the crosshairs of the government and the general public, especially because of the recent data scandal involving the Cambridge Analytica. People are more aware of their privacy (or lack thereof) than ever before. Therefore, applications that specifically address the issue of privacy are extremely necessary.
Privacy at stake
Privacy apps do one of two things. They keep others from seeing what you do and allow you to see what companies are doing to you. In the following list we will indicate and explain a little about the best privacy apps for your Android smartphone!
SpSoft Applock
An “Applock” type app is an excellent privacy measure, so there are a lot of them. However, we recommend using the SpSoft. The function of an Applock is to prevent unauthorized people from accessing apps on your device. It is important to note that these apps are not perfect.

They do a good enough job of fending off snooping friends or kids, so it's fine for that level of security. Many of them are free with an optional Pro version as an in-app purchase. Some of them also include additional features like taking pictures of people who mistype their password.

Bouncer
Bouncer is an excellent privacy app. This app allows you to automatically remove permissions from apps with very little effort. For example, you want to check in to a place on Facebook. You can enable location permission and then set Bouncer to automatically remove this permission after 15 minutes.

That way, Facebook no longer has permission ever. Permissions management is a great way to protect your privacy from prying apps. Bouncer makes this process infinitely easier. Android Q has some nice permission features, but Bouncer is still the app for long-term management.

Firefox Focus
O Firefox Focus is another excellent web browser with privacy in mind. This one does a little more than most of its competitors. This includes blocking a wide range of common web trackers and advertisements. Developers say this also improves browsing speed.

Its trademark feature is a one-button cleaning function. You simply press a button and your browsing history disappears. That's a little trick. This one is completely free to download and use.

Glasswire
O Glasswire is one of the best privacy apps as it monitors your data usage. This is useful for those measuring data on their smartphone plans. It also shows the apps using your data in real time and you can see whenever an app connects to your servers or uses your data.

Also, you can adjust your usage or selection of apps accordingly, it's great for removing apps that use data too liberally for your liking. The app also has some customization features for monitoring and other things. It has an annual subscription, but the low price and quality of service is worth it.

K-9 mail
O K-9 mail is one of the few reliable email apps, completely free and also open source. So you can see what this app really does. It includes most desirable features for an email application, such as support for most email services, archiving, and more. If you don't want anyone snooping around your messages, K-9 Mail is the solution you've been looking for.

musicolet
Musicolet is an interesting music player app. It plays your stored music without any fuss and has some decent features like multiple queues, playlist support, album covers and tag editing. It also manages to do all this without internet permissions and that's a rarity in this market.

You don't have to worry about it using any weird permissions or sending any information back to any server. Music apps generally don't interfere with people's privacy. Still, it's nice that an option like this exists. It is also a completely free app with no advertising.

ProtonVPN
VPN generators are among the best privacy apps as they allow you to connect to a virtual network that hides what you do from the real network. This basically lets you browse without anyone knowing what you're doing (or even where you are). A good recommendation is ProtonVPN, a VPN free with a no registration policy. It also features encryption, full transparency, and more.

You can get VPNs with more features and higher bandwidth, but they often cost money. This one is great for people who just need something to pay a bill online while at the airport or other sensitive tasks they don't want their ISP (or anyone connected to public WiFi) to see.

Simple Mobile Tools
O Simple Mobile Tools is a developer on Google Play that makes mobile tools simple, obviously. There are a variety of apps available, including a calendar, a gallery, a file manager, a contacts app, a note-taking app, and a few others. These apps do not use unnecessary permissions.

The gallery app, for example, doesn't need your location; the note-taking app doesn't need to access the device ID, etc. These are excellent privacy apps that are also functional every day as well as having the same level of features as the originals. These are great replacements for many stock apps that ask for too many permissions.

Telegram or Signal Private Messenger
O Telegram and Signal Private Messenger are two excellent privacy apps. In fact, Telegram is so good at keeping secrets that the Russian government is currently trying to ban it. These two apps do similar things in that they allow you to send messages to others with full encryption.

They also support photo, video, and file sharing, as well as voice calls, group chats, and more. Both apps are equally good in slightly different ways. However, both have their flaws as well. Go with what you like best.

The Tor Project
O Tor Project it's basically hardcore mode for privacy fans. It's a little difficult to set up and get used to, however it's probably the best suite of privacy apps available. The Tor Project has three apps in total: Orbot is a proxy app that uses Tor to encrypt internet traffic; in turn, Orfox is a privacy browser; and OONI Probe is an application that monitors your internet connection for censorship.

The latest addition, Tor Browser, should eventually replace Orbot as the Tor browser of choice. Make no mistake, this is the starting point from a passing interest in protecting your privacy to really taking it seriously. Tor is also available on desktop computers.
