Battery and charging

New way to preserve battery health

The idea of preserving battery health through software optimizations has been around for a few years now. iPhones. Previously, this configuration was divided into three: no optimization, 80% limit ou optimized loading. On iPhone 16 e iPhone 16 Pro, things have changed a bit, making the process simpler and ensuring that the battery lasts even more cycles by your side.

Step 1: Visit Settings and tap Battery;

By limiting the maximum charge of your battery, you help to extend its lifespan in the long run. After all, the battery degrades with each full charge cycle (from 0% to 100%).

It is important to highlight that, in Brazil, the function “Clean Energy Charging” is also available on this screen. When turned on, it allows iPhone to learn your usage patterns and routines to reduce carbon emissions.

Best way to charge iPhone 16

O iPhone 16 and its variants are much faster at charging. However, excessive use of this fast charge can wear down the battery's health more quickly. If you have a 45W charger, the recommendation is to use it only in situations that require fast charging, such as when you arrive home with low battery and need to leave again soon, without the luxury of running out of battery on your device.

On the other hand, in situations such as charging overnight, or when you are in no rush to unplug the device, it is worth using a slower charger, which will demand less from the lithium-ion battery and preserve more of its life.

It is also important to mention that the ideal for a healthy battery is to always keep it between 20% e 80%, in line with the previous function. Also, avoid letting your device's battery run out as much as possible. This way, you save cycles and keep your device healthy for longer.
