Windows Copilot can now be used by everyone, see how to access

What is Windows Copilot?

This is the artificial intelligence of ecosystem which, as the name suggests, works as a true personal assistant for users' daily lives. If you remembered the Cortana, which debuted with Windows 10, the concept is the same: to be a tool integrated into the operating system that can perform actions according to the user's taste.

O Windows Copilot began testing in July 2023 and who is part of the program Windows Insider was able to access Windows AI early. And from September 26, 2023, everyone who has the latest version of Microsoft's operating system installed on their computer can now use the new feature, which does not require any additional payment.

How do I access Windows AI?

During the third week of September 2023, the ecosystem promised that the big second half update would be released and, with it, the launch of Windows Copilot. The 26th of the month has arrived and in fact only one add-on for the September 2022 update has been released. But artificial intelligence was included in the package and can now be used by everyone. See the step-by-step guide to activate it.

Step 1: You must have the latest version of Windows to use Copilot. To do this, open the Start menu and search for Windows Update.

Step 2: With the update tool open, click Check for updates. Here:

Automatically, the system will search and the download will be done as soon as you click on Download and install. Now, wait for the process to complete and restart the computer for the changes to be applied.

Step 3: When the system is ready to use, you will see a specific button for the Windows Copilot in the taskbar, like this below:

But we remember that it can also be activated using the shortcut Win + C.

How can I use this in my everyday life?

A ecosystem cited that intelligence can make complete changes to the operating system and these are examples of commands:

• “Switch to dark mode.” 
• “Turn on do not disturb mode.” 
• “Take a screenshot” 
• “Summarize this site” (when a tab is active in Microsoft Edge) 
• “Write a story about a dog that lives on the moon.” 

It's worth doing a full exploration of the functionality to take advantage of all the features, but Microsoft remembers that, at least at this first moment, there is only support for Microsoft plugins. Support for third-party tools is coming soon.

You can also send images to artificial intelligence for them to be interpreted, whether to create captions or simply for an internet search to be carried out based on what you sent. In general, everything that the bing with AI and other artificial intelligence like Bard and ChatGPT already do can now be requested directly on the Windows Copilot.
