Amazon launches 4 new Echo speakers and displays with Alexa+

In addition to new Kindles with color screen and pen, Amazon presented the Echo Dot Max, Echo Studio (2nd generation), Echo Show 8, and Echo Show 11, with launches already confirmed for Brazil. With support for the service Alexa+ (supercharged version of the personal assistant of Amazon), the devices have a suggested price starting at R$ 849. Find out all the details:

AZ3 and AZ3 Pro Processors

Developed for the new devices in the line Echo presented today, the Amazon mentions that these processors are “AI-ready,” as they feature an intelligence accelerator designed just for the latest new models, including Alexa+.

O Echo Dot Max uses the processor AZ3 and leverages the "best microphones" in the Echo line to date to detect wake-up commands. The company states in its press release that, by reducing background noise and improving wake-word pickup, even in other rooms, it has improved its response by 50%.

The Echo Studio, the Echo Show 8 and the Echo Show 11 arrive with the processor AZ3 Pro, which has the same command capture capabilities as the chip AZ3, but delivers better compatibility with the most modern language models and computer vision systems.

Alexa+

Announced in 2024, but not yet available in Brazil at the time of writing, the Alexa+ arrives to change the use of the personal assistant of Amazon.

In addition to leaving the more robotic voice commands aside, Alexa+ It features context memory and interpretation, allowing it to recall a previous conversation. This allows it to respond based on what the user previously said, such as a favorite food or place.

A new Alexa was developed with the artificial intelligence company anthropic, fruit of the investment of 4 billion dollars made by Amazon in March 2023. Among the features, the new version of Amazon's personal assistant can also create music, schedule restaurant reservations, identify songs and can also be used by children without any worries.

In the US, you can have free access to Alexa+ if you are a subscriber Amazon Prime or, if you are not a subscriber Prime, you need to pay US$19,99 per month.

Omnisense Platform

A Amazon presented the Omnisense, its new sensor technology created so that the Alexa Better understand what's happening around you, making your assistant smarter and more helpful in your daily life. To achieve this, the platform combines information from multiple sources simultaneously, such as the 13-megapixel camera view of the new Echo Show, plus microphones, sound sensors, Wi-Fi radar, and an accelerometer to detect sound and movement.

By putting all this data together, the Alexa gains real insight into the environment, allowing it to act more usefully and even anticipate its needs. As a practical result, Alexa You can use the camera to identify who entered the room and deliver a specific message to that person, or send you a security alert if you notice that the garage door was left open after 22 pm.

Alexa Home Theater

All new devices in the line Echo presented today also feature the system Alexa Home Theater. The new functionality allows users to connect up to five Echo devices, specifically models Echo Studio or Echo Dot Max, to one Fire TV Stick compatible, thus creating an immersive surround sound system.

According to the statement, the setup process is designed to be intuitive and quick. Once the speakers are connected wirelessly, Alexa's software performs an automatic calibration, adjusting each device's audio output to the specific acoustics of the room.

The company emphasizes that this solution offers an affordable alternative to traditional home theater systems, which often cost thousands of dollars and require professional installation. To facilitate adoption, the devices Echo Compatible devices will be sold in “Alexa Home Theater” packages, aiming to simplify the acquisition and configuration of a high-fidelity sound system.

Echo Dot Max

Compared to the 5th generation Echo Dot, the Echo Dot delivers nearly three times the bass. Amazon notes that this version has only two speakers: a high-excursion woofer optimized for deep bass and a custom tweeter for crisp highs. 

Additionally, the internal design has been redesigned to eliminate the separate speaker module, integrating the speaker directly into the device's frame to double the air space and deliver fuller bass. 

A Amazon quotes that this is the best Echo Dot ever developed and, despite being more compact, it delivers powerful, distortion-free sounds. The model will be launched in black and white in Brazil, and is already on pre-sale from today (30).

Echo Studio (2nd generation)

O Echo Studio 2nd generation It is 40% smaller than its predecessor, but it was designed to deliver the best sound performance in its smart speaker category.

It maintains its spherical shape with high-quality materials: the fabric covering is 3D knitted, a technique used to ensure maximum acoustic transparency without compromising aesthetics. The visual identity is complemented by a new lighting pattern in the light ring, characteristic of the Echo line.

Internally, the device features a high-excursion woofer for deep bass reproduction, complemented by three other full-range speakers. These components are strategically positioned to generate a wide, immersive soundstage.

The new Echo Studio also offers native support for advanced audio technologies like spatial audio and Dolby Atmos, aiming to deliver an authentic surround sound experience. 2nd generation Echo Studio arrives in Brazil in November.

Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11

O Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11 (with 8,7-inch and 11-inch screens, respectively) feature a refreshed design and significant improvements to the display and audio. Visually, the devices have a modern aesthetic, with screens that combine technology touch in-cell and a negative liquid crystal design.

This technical approach allowed for the reduction of lamination layers, resulting in a maximized viewing angle and superior image clarity under various lighting conditions. Both models feature a 13-megapixel camera, which allows Alexa recognizes you when you approach the device, greets you, and displays the desired information.

The audio architecture has been completely revamped. Both models feature new front-facing stereo speakers and a custom bass-tuned woofer, supporting spatial audio. The speakers have also been positioned below the floating displays and designed to direct sound forward, providing greater clarity and immersion. Amazon claims these are its smart displays with the best sound quality to date.

In addition to the new Echo Show, an adjustable stand that can be customized to the user's design and personal taste, has been announced. Sold separately for R$199,00, these stands allow you to tilt them depending on what you're doing.
