A Samsung has not yet revealed its upgrade plans for all devices, the famous roadmap from the company. Therefore, there is still no way to know for sure when the company will start to update its Galaxy S9 for the new Android 9.0. However, we can already have an idea of how the new version of the operating system will run on the device of the South Korean giant thanks to a leak online.
The folks at XDADevelopers had access to a Galaxy S9 running a build of tests of the new Android Pie. As you can see, many of the main changes already announced for Android 9.0 will be present in this update. It also features Samsung's new custom interface, Samsung Experience 10 UI.
But it is worth noting that, as it is still a build tests and not the definitive one, some interface elements are still incomplete or buggy, as well as some of the features are still not working perfectly well. But still, it gives you an idea of what to expect when Android 9.0 arrives for the Galaxy S9.
Android Pie on Galaxy S9
The first big detail that we can see in the photos is the arrival of the dark theme to the device interface. This is a feature that has been increasingly successful, especially for people who like to use their smartphone at night or in darker places, and it's no wonder that many apps are already launching Dark Theme options too, as is the case of Youtube.

Android Pie is not far behind, and the new device will be able to take advantage of that. At build, the dark theme is fixed and there is no way to change it, but this is just a small bugs. In the final version of the update, the user will be able to choose the dark theme whenever he wants and even configure it manually or automatically from a certain time, such as after sunset, for example.

Another interesting feature that was shown by Google during the I / O 2018 is the cards-style user interface. It is also possible to notice that the shading and the Design of the Quick Notifications panel has also been redesigned to adapt to changes in the interface. The buttons are more rounded and it is even possible to select and configure some application options from the menu itself, without having to open them.
The option to see open apps is also noticeably modified to adapt to the new Android Pie and the Samsung Experience 10. You can see the novelty at the bottom, where recently opened applications are shown and navigate through them by swiping horizontally and not vertically as was done in past versions. But it is worth remembering that this feature can already be used even before Android Pie when using Good Lock on Samsung devices.
Another feature that can also be seen in the build is the inclusion of the famous gesture controls, which will come to the Galaxy S9 with the update to the new Android. However, they are not exactly the same ones that Google developed for the firmware. Here, users will be able to drag the screen from the bottom up from the position where the Home Screen buttons (Home), Come back (Back) and Recent (recent).

This gesture control only works when the navigation bar is hidden. But there are still other gestures that can be found in the specific menu for this type of resource, which also appears in the build. One of the gestures is to wake up the smartphone when it is lifted, that is, the screen is turned on when the user takes it off a surface and lifts it up to eye level.
Apps have also been updated
And with the arrival of the Samsung Experience 10, the company also took the opportunity to update some of its native apps. Starting with the dial button, which also gets a dark mode theme to match the interface. Shortcuts for contacts, numeric keypad and recent apps have been moved to the bottom of the screen. The messaging one has a slightly more curvy design and has also been moved to the bottom of the screen.

And the personal assistant, the Bixby, also gained some changes in the visual to be in the same style as the rest of the interface, as expected. the design of Bixby-Home The update that was made in the other apps was suitable, such as a more curved design and the dark theme to match.

As for resources, build test, nothing new was seen in relation to Bixby Home besides the change in the look or even something that could reach a more complete version of Android 9.0 in the next build. Other apps also had this change, such as email, photo gallery and camera app, which by the way gained new features but unfortunately were not present in the tested build yet.
