We were invited to visit the facilities of the factory of AOC, located in Jundiaí-SP.

The introduction was made by the brand's CEO in Brazil, Eduardo Brunoro, in a room prepared with the brand's launches, which could be experienced by all guests.
O TPV Group is the owner of the AOC trademark and has recently acquired the trademark Phillips in Brazil, increasing the portfolio of monitors and TVs, whose world income is between 12 and 13 million dollars, with China being its biggest market.
In Brazil they produce all monitors sold by DELL, in addition to producing screens for other brands, such as HP, Impact e Lenovo.
At the Jundiaí factory, they produce monitors for domestic and professional use (those used in hotels, stores, cafeteria menus, etc., which need to be connected 24×7), tablets, all-in-one devices, etc.
The warranty failure rate of monitors produced in Jundiaí is below 1%, considered excellent in comparison with the market in general.
The other Brazilian factory of the TPV Group, located in Manaus-AM, produces monitors for Panasonic.
AOC stands for “Admiral Overseas Company”, and he recalled the TV brand Admiral, which sold TVs in Brazil decades ago. In fact, they showed concern even about the pronunciation of the name, which should be “AOC”, and not “here".
To talk a little about the company's history, he gave the floor to Christian Haak, from the company's Corporate Marketing.
The company started with the Admiral TV factory (1934, IL, USA).
After decades, it moved to Taiwan and changed its name to AOC and in 1990 it changed its name to TPV, along with a transfer to Hong Kong and the opening of its capital on the stock exchange.
He came to Brazil in 1997, with an office in São Paulo-SP and in 2004 he opened a factory in Manaus-AM.
In the following year, TPV was the largest manufacturer of monitors in the world (to give you an idea, the Insignia TVs, Bestbuy's own brand - a famous American retailer - are made by TPV) and in 2008 it opens the factory in Jundiaí-SP.
Today the TPV group, a merger of the MMD (Multimedia displays) and TPVision groups, is present in more than 115 countries on all continents. In the US it operated under the name Envision, where it currently has 14 factories and around 30 employees.
Although the largest factory is located in China, Brazil is considered one of the most important markets for the brand.

Exactly this importance made them open the doors to the press in general, as they want to establish themselves in our market, not only as a cheaper option, but showing the standard of quality they have.
The adopted slogan – “AOC – simplifying life” – translates that they think of products that are easily used, even for those who are acquiring a certain product niche for the first time and are totally laymen.
This is exactly why they are able to reach a not so geek audience, so much so that the biggest retailer of their products currently is Casas Pernambucanas.
That's why they try to highlight the functions and not the specifications of their products in their ads.
And they emphasized that the focus of the TPV group is the screens, that is, their products are always imagined as a screen with functions, since monitors are what they do par excellence.
In Brazil, they have more than 300 technical assistance points, and they intend to expand even more.
Also demonstrating the focus on Brazil, they informed that here, in the two mentioned factories, there are, in addition to production, Project and Development Centers.
AOC product line
Among the products presented are:
-
“All-in-one” line AOC EVO:
They have market leadership all-in-one Brazilian, but before that they had to educate the retail that it was not just an “expensive monitor”, but a complete computer, that is, it should stay in the desktop sector.
They have models with Windows and LINUX and are launching two more affordable models (one with a conventional 19,5″ screen and the other with a 21,5″ touch screen), equipped with Android (Jelly Bean), targeting an audience that only needs the basics of browsing (social networks and e-mail), with a very sophisticated finish, which aesthetically enchanted everyone, especially the female audience present.

-
Tablets:
Its products (currently 2 on the market) excel in quality at a very competitive price, and equipped with an IPS touch screen and long battery life.
-
Monitors:
They presented a model with capacitive hardware with the possibility of 1 touch, but that through software simulates the second touch, allowing the pinch to zoom effect, reducing costs.
It was possible to test and compare this solution with another model capable of recognizing up to 10 simultaneous touches, and we were able to prove that the most economical model, priced in the range of non-touch monitors, meets the objective of providing a low-cost touch experience.

But the most surprising monitor that could be classified with the seal "What witchcraft is this?", was the 15.6″ USB portable LED display (Model: e1649Fwu), which is powered exclusively by this port (see here the review).
-
TVs:
in addition to AOC branded TVs, show Phillips branded products
