Call of Duty: Mobile was released last week and has already achieved an incredible milestone. The game has reached the highest number of downloads made in a week of release in history, according to analytics firm Tower Sensor. Since it became available for download, Call of Duty: Mobile already managed to reach the mark of 100 million downloads.

The factors helped Call of Duty: Mobile reach that top, especially when compared to the situation in which its biggest rivals were launched. PUGB Mobile, for example, is one of the highlights of successful games and managed to reach the mark of 28 millions of downloads in the first week, but when it launched it was only available in some regions initially.

Yes, Fortnite, another great competitor in this market, reached the mark of 22.5 millions of downloads in its debut week, however initially it was only being made available for iOS, being only later released for download on Android, which affected its results.

The merit of Call of Duty: Mobile

Game has not yet been released in China

Only Call of Duty: Mobile still impresses by its numbers because it also has a “but” in this race: the game has not yet been released in China, a gigantic market. So his feat is still quite impressive.

Randy Nelson, from Tower Sensor, said that:

"This is by far the biggest mobile game launch in history in terms of player base that was made in the first week."

Who also came close was Mario Kart Tour, which was released a week earlier and managed to beat the amount of 90 millions of downloads in your first week.

Among the large number of downloads made from the Call of Duty: Mobile, Tower Sensor confirmed that 55.7% were done through a device running iOS. Of the $17.7 million in profit from the game, 53% was thanks to in-app purchases. The United States accounted for 16.9% of downloads and 43.1% of profits.

An interesting curiosity is that, although the game has not yet been released in China, it was developed by a studio there, TiMi Studio, which is located in Shenzhen, and published by Activision. This studio is also known for the MOBA-style mobile game Honor of Kings, which has a similarity to League of Legends.

Call of Duty: Mobile arrives as another option for the new wave of games in the Battle Royale, where players need to survive until the end to be the winners. In addition Activision has already stated that more game options may arrive in the future such as a Zombie mode and even a Campaign mode, which may have also boosted the number of downloads in the first week.

To download just go to Play Store for Android or on App Store for iOS.
