The pleasure of watching your favorite programs in the comfort of your home is increasing with the evolution of televisions. The novelty of the moment are the quantum screens, whose first versions should hit the market this year. The technology uses crystals created on a manometric scale, resulting in ultra-high definition displays (Ultra HD ou 4K). Capable of transmitting electrical energy and light, quantum screens process the light emitted by diodes known as quantum dots, thanks to their dimensions and operation, without the need for backlight (you can see the full article about quantum displays made by showmetech here).
The first models with resolutions Ultra HD began to be marketed in Brazil at the end of 2014 and presented themselves as a trend for the year 2015. With the new technology of quantum dots, they should become even cheaper than current OLED screens.
Around the same time, CES 2015 (the most prestigious event held in the sector) demonstrates that the technology of 4K may be on the way to limbo. According to information from the portal DigiTimes, two of the largest companies in the sector should present new models with resolutions higher than 4K for consumers. the south korean LG had already announced the news in the IFA 2014 and has been selling since November a 5K TV in Brazil. In the same steps, the Japanese Sony also points to the evolution of quantum screens in their new models.

The two companies must show televisions that have high resolutions and that have the QD-LED technology — where “quantum dots” are used to add depth and life to images. Until the moment, There is no estimated date for the arrival of these devices. on the market (at least on a large scale).
However, it is worth keeping an eye out and keeping up with what novelties manufacturers are preparing for the future and how to make the best choice in terms of image and sound for home entertainment.
