Currently the LG is one of the leading companies that can dare to say what the future of displays is, which way the evolution of panels will go, and nothing better than CES to demonstrate new concepts and see the reaction of visitors and press. In this year's edition of the event, one of the main novelties is the prototype of a 65-inch OLED screen that is rollable, the display simply collapses into a base.
Betting on a flexible future
By consolidating itself as the main supplier of OLED panels, LG uses the greatest asset of this technology, the versatility of the construction process, to plant its flag and scream from the four winds that the future of TVs is on the flexible side of strength, screens that can be folded, all bathed in stunning image quality.
From 2014 to LG was already demonstrating flexible 18-inch OLED screens. At CES last year, the highlight was due to the TV wallpaper, the thinnest display ever released, which can be mounted directly to the wall. It's so thin that the sound system must come through a soundbar.
Na CES 2018 a LG sports its 64-inch OLED panel, with 4K resolution and with this very unusual feature, it rolls up inside a case, almost completely hiding the TV when it's not in use.
More details about this roll-up TV from LG will likely be revealed during the event, but it is already confirmed that it is just a prototype, and there is no prediction of when it will land on the market.
When it's not impressing by that futuristic side, where the panel folds, the LG draws attention to its OLED TVs in the size and resolution offered. At CES 2018 the South Korean will display the largest OLED TV ever made: 88 inches. As if the resolution is not enough is 8K, which is equivalent to 7680 4320 pixels x (16x higher than Full HD and 4x higher than 4K).
At the end of 2017, the LG held the event in Brazil labtech to clarify and point out some of the new technologies present in their OLED TVS. We have one article about this; It is worth checking!
