CES 2024: TCL announces smart glasses with integrated AI that shoot in HD

Two days after announcing a new portfolio of tablets, smartphones and an advance in e-reader technology, TCL announced its new smart glasses RayNeo X2 Lite AR Glasses, which resembles the Meta Ray Ban. The model can work for a whole day and prevents you from taking your cell phone out of your pocket when you are on the street. See the details.

A smart glasses with a lot of battery

Developed with a “battery that works for a whole day”, but without its full capacity reported, the TCL highlights the low weight of its new smart glasses for people who work with content creation and in offices. To run its operating system, the company chose the processor Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1, in addition to placing 4GB of RAM e 32 GB of internal storage.

There is a Bluetooth 5.4 antenna and the device also connects to Wi-Fi 6E networks. The sensors are: accelerometer, gyroscope, compass, magnetometer and touch (located on the rods).

Moving on to the camera details, the model can take photos in 12 MP and record videos in 1080 quality at 30 frames per second. The model connects to the smartphone and all photos and videos are automatically saved in the gallery to be shared on any social network.

In addition to taking photos and recording videos in full quality, the company implemented a chatbot that displays a 3D avatar on the lenses.

A TCL informs that the projectors in each of the lenses measure less than a centimeter, which helps to make the smart glasses extremely light. These projectors allow information to be seen even in places with high sunlight and provide a 30-degree field of view, which allows for better visualization of information on a daily basis.

To record important moments, simply slide your finger over the rods and wait for confirmation from the personal assistant, through the speakers. Cameras can also be used for object recognition, through the encyclopedia Glasspedia.

O RayNeo X2 Lite AR It also has support for performing translations in real time, using facial tracking. The device can also read menus, road signs and help the user get to a certain location, through 3D visualization.

A TCL it also promises that its smart glasses are ready to take the person from the starting point to the destination point through its integrated personal assistant.

Price and availability

The features are under development, although they were presented at CES 2024 for all visitors. TCL's new smart glasses are expected to hit the market in the third quarter of 2024, and prices have not yet been released.

For comparison, the 2023 Ray-Ban Target, the main competitor of RayNeo X2 Lite AR, was announced with a suggested price of US$299 (R$1.457 in direct conversion), so expect something close to that when the TCL is released.
