ChatStats: Brazilian app generates statistics for your WhatsApp groups

O WhatsApp Messenger is more than rooted in the daily lives of Brazilians, and the famous groups are the main highlight of the conversation application. Everyone has that family group, full of beautiful good morning messages, the work or review group, and countless messages that sometimes we don't even realize how much has been said. Have you ever thought if you could quantify and have in your hands several statistics about these groups? O ChatStats is here for that.

The Brazilian Rodrigo Araujo, who has a degree in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, created the ChatStats to App which generates various statistics about everything that happens in groups of WhatsApp. Through it, it is possible to know which days the group was busiest, which are the times of greatest conversation, and even to rank the people who send the most photos, videos and characters in general. Who prefers to send audio than writing, who loves to send links and who writes more emojis than real letters, and even who sent more stickers are not left out of the list.

How ChatStats works

O App process processes the conversation history of the WhatsApp and does all the counting of characters, emojis and links and looking for indications of photos, videos, audios and stickers sent by the group. At the end of the process he generates 22 images with the statistics he processed. The creator guarantees that the App does not keep any of your data and that after generating the statistics the cache is deleted, not storing any information from the conversations.

The curious thing is that the WhatsApp Messenger appears to store these stats, however, we have no way of viewing these stats. The closest we have to a native function is in WhatsApp Business, where we can view how many messages are sent, delivered, read and received. O ChatStats is a pioneer in its proposal, and shows that the market still has room for simple and practical solutions.

O ChatStats is only available for iOS, and a limited version can be downloaded for free from Apple store. However, the full version with the 22 stats is released for a value of R$8,00, and can be acquired through the application itself. The App has a very explanatory and dynamic tutorial on how to import your WhatsApp data, and it's super easy to use. ChatStats was launched on the 27th of May, and before the month is over, it has over 1.000 downloads on the App Store!
