How to enable Instagram chronological feed

Six years after being removed by the social network, the chronological feed of the Social media coordinator is back and can now be accessed by all users who have the application. According to the social network, the return of functionality is a way to allow people to see what matters without having to scroll the smartphone screen for several minutes.

We developed this special article to teach you how to create your Social media coordinator and how you can start to see the publications according to the posting time. Check it out right now.

Enable Instagram chronological feed

Only available to those who use the app to Android e iPhone (not valid for the web version, accessed by browsers), you will need to have the most up-to-date version on your smartphone to use the chronological feed on the social network again.

To develop this tutorial, we used the version 226. 1.0 16 for smartphones with Android. Once you open the app, just scroll down and then click Social media coordinator, at the top right corner. You will see two options: Following e Favorites. Just select one of the options to see the new ways of organizing your feed:

There are now three feeds on the social network. One with publications selected by the algorithm of the Social media coordinator, and the others with publications in chronological order (from the most recent to the oldest) with content posted only by the accounts you follow and with news from the accounts you marked as favorites.

It is important to note that the Home page with the posts organized according to the Instagram algorithm will always be displayed by default when opening the application. For now, you can't use the chronological feed as the default, and you'll have to select it every time you open the app to see the latest content from the people you're following and your favorites.

How to create your Instagram Favorites list

Similar to functionality Close friends, you can now also view new posts from up to 50 accounts through the new section.

When opening the application and clicking Favorites, you will have to select which profiles will appear in this new feed from Social media coordinator. To do this, just click on Add Favorites.

The next step is to include the accounts in your list by clicking on the Add and when you're done, just click confirm favorites. In addition to the suggestions that appear on the screen, you can also use the search magnifying glass.

To check the new photos and videos only from the accounts you have added to your list, just access the section when opening the app, like this: Instagram > Favorites. People don't know if they've been added or removed from your favorites list.
