What is Threads? See the news of the new social network
Thursday, July 6, 2023: The date marks the moment when the rival app Twitter was released. Previous announcements about Threads realized that the new social network would be similar to the microblogging network, since it also works via text, with functions similar to Twitter: you can like, repost and comment on any post made on Threads, exactly as you would when tweeting on the other network.
Due to its great similarity, the new social network from Meta has already been the subject of a threat of prosecution. Already at the beginning of this month, the lawyer of Elon Musk, which has already been chief executive officer (CEO) Of the Twitter, decided to send a letter to the leader of the Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, listing irregularities — including the use of trade secrets. However, it seems that the process has not yet had a strong enough impact to affect the growth of Threads.
That's because Meta is already preparing news for application users in the iOS, for example. Additionally, The Instagram boss, Adam Mosseri, which also controls Threads, has also announced that the new social network will have a new feed. Many users complain that the newly launched app's algorithm is including posts that are not relevant to people. Thus, Mosseri said it will include the following changes:
- Chronological feed: posts at the time they are published, from profiles followed by the user;
- edition of publications: Threads will let people change their posts;
- Translation: posts will have a resource in the application;
- different accounts: the application will have a feature to facilitate changing the profile used in Threads.
How to Install Threads on Windows
Unfortunately, the application Meta it still doesn't have the cross-platform feature that Twitter has. In this way, it ends up being very restricted to smartphone systems, that is, to the Android and iOS. But XDA Developers warns that it is possible that Threads will soon have an application for Windows. Until that day arrives, there is a way to download the application to your desktop and use it.
No showmetech, you will see how to do this on a Windows computer.
