It's always good to keep track of your smartphone's battery level, and there's nothing like looking at the cell phone screen and the percentage pointing out how much is still left for the next recharge. Many iPhone users have to guess what the battery level by the icon that appears in the upper corner of the device, so we are going to teach you how to show this level in numbers — through the iOS 16 – bringing a more accurate idea. Check out!
Battery Level by Settings
With the launch of iOS 16, many iPhones can now display the remaining battery percentage directly in the phone's status bar. But even if your iPhone can't play the feature, still you have some chance to improve the battery view. See how you can ensure the accurate battery level is always visible on your screen.

With that said, so we know that not all iPhone models support this type of display. The models iPhone 8 and earlier include this feature, as well as devices second and third generation iPhone SE. The models of iPhone X and newer are also supported, with the exception of these devices:
- iPhone XR;
- iPhone 11;
- iPhone 12 Mini;
- iPhone 13Mini.
With an iPhone that has the ability to display the percentage indicator, there are just three quick steps to getting it into the status bar:
- Go to Settings;

- Scroll down the options a bit and select “Battery";

- Select the first option, Battery Level, to activate it and immediately you will be able to see the number in the upper right corner that indicates the remaining amount of energy.

You'll know your phone doesn't support the feature if you don't see battery percentage as an option — as indicated in the image above. Even so, it will be possible to help users who are unable to enable this feature: through the new widgets.
Battery level by widgets
One of the most awaited features for the iPhone was being able to insert and customize widgets, and now not only is it possible to do that but there is also the possibility to put the battery level to be displayed! Similar to wallpaper change on lock screen, there are not many secrets here. It won't be exactly like having it always visible at the top of the screen, but it's another way to get the same information quickly. To add a battery indicator widget, follow these steps:
- Long press anywhere on the lock screen and tap on the option that will appear at the bottom, “Customize now";

- Touch the “ADD WIDGETS” just below the clock to see the widget options;

- If necessary, scroll a bit through the options that appear, search for and select “Batteries";

- Two options will appear for displaying the battery widget, one similar to the default one, with the subjective display remaining battery in a circle, and also a slightly larger widget that displays the percentage of that amount. You can select the widget you want or drag it to the widget placeholder below the clock;

- After selecting the desired widget(s), click on the “OK” which is in the upper right corner of the screen;

- On the next screen select the blue button “Set as Background Image Pair";

- Now you will see a preview of what your new lock screen will look like with the widget that shows the battery level. click on this image and ready! Now on the locked screen — who can see the percentage in the top corner or not — the battery level widget is included.
