One UI allows quick data cleanup so you have a completely new operating system

To do a major cleanup instead of deleting file by file, you can choose to use the One UI functionality so that everything is done in less than 10 minutes. In this tutorial, we teach you how to restore your Samsung cell phone and what you should also pay attention to so you don't lose anything important.

What to do before restoring your smartphone?

Unless you want to super clean your files to recover internal storage, it's worth taking the time to back up what's saved on your phone. See some actions.

Save contacts

Here we'll show you the two main contacts apps found on Galaxy smartphones: Google's and Samsung's.

    Google Contacts

Starting with the phone numbers saved on your smartphone, you can save them through the app Google Contacts. If you don't have it on your Samsung smartphone, it can be installed free of charge via Play Store.

After logging in with your Google, just wait for the synchronization to be performed and soon, everything will already be connected. It is important to save the new numbers in the Contact Us in your Gmail account and not in the SIM card or internal storage of the cell phone, since the synchronization will only be done in this way. See an example:

When changing cell phones, just log into your account with your email address and password so that your contacts are available for consultation and are also synchronized without the need for you to do the work of saving one by one.

Send contacts to your Samsung Account

Those who use Galaxy smartphones can also access contacts that are/were saved on another smartphone manufactured by Samsung. To do this, just use the app Contact Us that comes installed from the factory and export the contacts to your samsung account.

Step 1: Access your applications menu, click on the application icon and then on the three lines in the top left corner. Here:

Step 2: click manage contacts and then in move contacts. It is important to remember that you will need to save the same contacts that are saved on your smartphone's internal storage or on your Google account on your Samsung account.

Step by step takes less than five minutes (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

Step 3: You will need to select the origin and then the destination. As we are sending everything to Samsung account, just click on the source (a list of all saved contacts will be displayed) you want and then click on samsung account.

In the example below, we will move contacts from the Google account. With the review done, just click MOVER.

The time for everything to complete will depend on the amount of contacts being moved. In our tutorial, it didn't take more than five minutes to get everything done.

When switching smartphones, then just log into your samsung account and all contacts can be accessed. And you can now follow the steps to restore your Samsung phone.

Upload photos and videos to Google Photos

An interesting feature of Google Photos is the possibility of having everything sent to your Google account and thus not losing any special date records and having automatic backup activated. This way, as soon as you connect to a Wi-Fi network, the sending will be done while your cell phone is being recharged and you do other things. See the step by step:

Step 1: you must necessarily have the application Google Photos installed on your smartphone, which is available for free at Google Play Store.

Open the app and click on your profile photo icon and then click Photos Settings.

Step 2: After clicking Backup and sync, just check the option at the top of the screen for the photos to start being saved to your account. If this is your first time doing the process, it can take a considerable amount of time for everything to be submitted.

Back Gallery, you can click on each of the folders and select what will or will not be sent to your Google Photoss. You can view all uploads in the application itself or through the web version of the service, when logging into your account.

    Back up WhatsApp

Applications like Instagram, Twitter and Telegram have messages saved online, so you don't need to worry about the history of these messages. But all WhatsApp conversations are saved on your smartphone's internal storage and, if you don't send everything to your Google account, you may lose the messages. See the step by step.

Step 1: click Settings and then in Conversations.

Then, simply activate and change the frequency at which backups will be saved to your Google Drive (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

At this point, you will need to select the frequency and choose between: “Just when I tap Backup","Daily","Weekly" or "Monthly".

Step 4: by clicking on Google account, in this same section, you can change the account where all backups will be sent. Important to remember the previously saved backup will be lost.

To download the backup when changing smartphones, simply log in to the new cell phone with the same account where you sent the file with the messages. The system will automatically download it once it detects that there is a backup saved in your account. Google and this will only be read by the application WhatsApp, as it is encrypted.
