How to turn a photo into a video in VEO 3

Without much fanfare, the Google updated its AI that creates videos, the I SEE 3, with the ability to turn a photo into a few-minute video. The steps are very simple, requiring only a subscription to the most comprehensive plans. Learn how to animate a photo of your pet or loved one right now:

How Veo 3 works

O I see 3 is the video generation tool of Google which was launched in May this year during the Google I/O 2025. The tool, already integrated into Gemini:, can create videos with sound using just a text command as a base and has gained attention on the internet due to its high assertiveness.

In addition to content creators, TV stations such as Globo and even the All time lap record already use the tool Google that can generate high-quality videos of up to seven seconds. Here in Brazil, the most famous success story I see 3 is fictional presenter Marisa Maiô, created by Raony Phillips, which has already been the subject of an article here at showmetech. In the first week of July, the Google updated the I see 3 with a new feature to animate static photos, simply by sending the photo and a text command. All plan subscribers can receive high-quality videos, up to seven seconds long, with ambient sound and enhanced detail.

To be able to use the I SEE 3, you need to be a subscriber to the plans Google AI Pro (R$ 96,99 per month) or Google AI Ultra (R$ 609 for three months)By choosing one of these, the tool is freely usable, but there are some limitations because video generation requires significant server graphics power. That said, let's take a step-by-step guide.

Step by step

Step 01: access the Gemini personal assistant website;

Step 02: select the video option to access VEO 3, as shown below;

Step 03: click on the “+” icon;

Step 04: now, click on “Add photo";

Step 04: when File Explorer opens on your computer, select the photo;

Step 05: Here's where the magic happens: type the text command to animate the photo. You can simply type "animate this photo of xx [pet or person's name]" and then press the send button to start the animation;

Step 06: Now, just wait for your video to be processed by Google's artificial intelligence. There's no set time for the results to arrive, but on average, your video will be uploaded in about two minutes.

Step 07: then, just download the video using the download button below.

We emphasize that the videos created by I SEE 3 Videos can't be edited, so you won't be able to remove any sound or scene you don't like. However, if you want a specific scene, it's worth re-uploading the video and writing the details in the text command you send to the tool. Remember to be as specific as possible. Here's the result:
