In a world where agility and convenience are increasingly valued, citizens and companies can now safely carry out important procedures online that were previously carried out exclusively in person at notary offices. In this article, you will learn about e-Notary and understand the main functions of the online notary office.

What is e-Notary?

O e-Notary is a digital platform that allows businesses and notarial acts to be carried out online in Brazil. Users can use the tool to, for example, obtain powers of attorney for representation in business, draw up deeds of purchase and sale of real estate, notarize signatures on important documents, request travel authorizations for minors and even formalize authorization for organ donation.

Companies, in turn, can also benefit from the platform's agility and security to authenticate documents, execute contracts electronically and optimize bureaucratic processes that require notarial intervention.

How to register and create a digital certificate

To register and use the services provided by e-Notary, the first is to get your Notarized Digital CertificateIt is issued free of charge by an accredited notary office and serves as your digital identification within the platform.

If you already have a registered business at a notary office, you can request the issuance of your certificate remotely through the website of [the notary's office/organization]. e-Notary.

If you don't have a registered business number at any notary office in Brazil, or if it's more than ten years old, that's not a problem. You can still proceed with the registration by sending digital identity documents, such as a digital driver's license (CNH-e), digital ID card (RG Digital), national identity card (CIN), or identity cards whose authenticity can be verified online.

Once the documents have been identified and checked, the registry office will issue your digital certificate, which will be stored in the application. e-Notary on your cell phone. It is also important to note that the digital certificate e-Notary It is valid for 3 years. If you need to reissue your certificate within this period due to changing your cell phone or reinstalling the application, you must request a new issue from the same issuing office.  

Beyond the digital certificate e-Notary, the platform also allows the use of certificates from Brazilian Public Key Infrastructure (ICP-Brazil) to access some services and sign documents. You also need to have the Web PKI extension installed in your browser to use some services.

What services does e-Notariado offer?

Electronic signature with legal validity (e-Not Assina)

O e-Not Sign is visibly one of the flagships of the e-Notary, allowing users to create signature flows for their documents in a completely digital way.

This tool centralizes and simplifies the management of processes, offering greater transparency and efficiency.

Management of electronic notarial acts (My Documents)

The section "My Documents"To e-Notary This is the space where users can manage and access electronic notarial acts performed through the platform. This centralized area facilitates the organization and tracking of digital legal documents. The platform supports a wide range of acts, including real estate sales and purchases, divorces, inventories, property divisions, wills, recognition of common-law marriage, among others.

Electronic Travel Authorization (AEV) Request for Minors

O e-Notary allows you to request the Electronic Travel Authorization (AEV) for children and teenagers directly on the platform.

XNUMXst stepOn the main page, locate the option. AEV – Electronic Travel Authorization and click on “Start".

StepPlease fill in all the requested information on the online form, including the authorization period, the type of trip (domestic or international), the method of issuance (remote via video conference or in person), the minor's and legal guardians' information (with attached photos), and information about the accompanying adult, if applicable.

After completing an online form and selecting a notary, the candidate participates in a video conference to confirm their identity and willingness to donate. The authorization is then digitally signed by the donor and the notary, and is recorded in the system for consultation by accredited health professionals.

Validation of authentications at the Digital Authentication Notary Center

The platform also allows you to check the validity of authentications made on the Digital Authentication Notary Center (CNAD) selecting the option “Authentication query".

On the next screen, select the file whose authenticity you want to check. The system will process the information and display the validation result, confirming whether the authentication is valid and whether the digital signature data matches the records of the DINNER.

Verification of authenticity of documents
