Confused by so much news? We explain how to use Meta's new app to become a real success on the new website

Officially launched on July 05, 2023, a new social network arrives to clash with the Twitter in the midst of many problems. And there's no denying that the Threads, considered risky by its own developer, recalls the Twitter in several aspects. See how to create your account, deactivate your profile and make full use of the new app.

What is Threads?

This is the new social network of Meta which was developed to be a direct competitor to the Twitter. In addition to having the name that refers to one of the elements of the website of the blue bird, the application of Threads It has an interface and other elements that are very reminiscent of the Twitter

Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram, confirmed in an interview that the focus of the new social network is to create a new space for discussion for those who use Social media coordinator, as a kind of text addition to the photo and video social network.

Obviously, Twitter was the pioneer in the space. And there are a lot of good deals out there for public conversations. But given everything that was going on, we thought there was an opportunity to create something open and good for the community that was already using Instagram. And this new social network is a risky investment, as people have to download a new app. We've made this process easy with the integration, allowing you to automatically fill in your account information and follow people on your Instagram.

future improvements

Until the closing of this matter, the Threads it had been released less than 24 hours ago, but there are points that could make it even better. The biggest complaint from users is that posts from people they don't follow were being displayed too often. So, it is important that the social network launches this as soon as possible so that navigation is not affected and those who have an account start leaving Threads.

Adam Mosseri confirmed that the functionality is in the implementation plans, but there is still no exact date for it to reach all users. He also confirmed that support for translation, editing posts and support for more than one account in the same app are "on the list" of future features.

There is still no DM section there, which forces people to have private affairs on other apps. A feature that shows what is being discussed most on the social network, such as Trending Topics do Twitter, also does not exist in Threads. A web mode is also missing and who knows it will arrive in the not-so-distant future.

It may be too early to ask for so many improvements for a social network that debuted less than a week ago, but we remember that, if you want to go head-to-head with Twitter, Threads it needs to deliver what its competitor already does and still differentiate itself to be an option of choice for those who use the social network of the blue bird.

First feats of the new social network

Quite expected by those who were dissatisfied with the Twitter, there is no denying that the new social network Meta arrived successfully. In just the first ten hours of activation, 30 million subscriptions were registered.

Na Google Play, the app has already registered more than 5 million downloads in about 19 hours after its launch. In the App Store, the application also took the lead in the list of social networking applications and should stay in this position for a long time.

Can Meta unseat Twitter?

There is no denying that on its first day of operation, the Threads it is a real success. But here, we have a double-edged sword: either the social network will work very well, or very wrong. From the start, it has integration with the Social media coordinator. This makes it easy to use and also allows you to find friends, family and acquaintances.

A high user base can be great, but maintaining it is even harder. Mark Zuckerberg even went so far as to activate his old Facebook account. Twitter to joke that the application is a copy of Twitter:

O Threads It's in the world and now we have to watch how far it goes. If this is going to be a reason for Musk's loss, well, that's a subject we'll address in the future. And perhaps it won't take long for that moment to arrive. Until then, tell us: what do you think of the new social network? Meta? tell us Comment!
