Soon, smart TVs from Samsung will receive a dedicated app from Xbox, where you can access titles from the Game Pass and play via streaming, through the Xbox CloudGaming, the platform's cloud gaming service, without the need for a console. According to ecosystem, Xbox App will be available, starting on June 30th, for all 2022 smart TV models of the brand. The novelty will be present in the Samsung gaming hub, dedicated space for gaming functions in the South Korean manufacturer's Smart TVs system.
The operation of the feature will be very simple, similar to any other streaming service. The user will only need to open the application, connect a wireless controller - which can be from the Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch or some generic template — and start playing.
It is worth noting that, in addition to the ecosystem to Game Pass active and a Bluetooth controller, a stable internet signal is also required, so that games run smoothly and the quality of the experience is not compromised.
As stated at the beginning of the text, at this first moment, the Xbox to xCloud will only be available on smart TVs Samsung line 2022. However, the ecosystem has already shown interest in establishing partnerships with other television manufacturers in the future. In this sense, it is likely that smart TVs from LG be the next to receive the app from Xbox.
Xbox Cloud Gaming Augmentation
In addition to the desire to take the novelty to other brands, ecosystem also revealed ambitious plans to expand the reach of the Xbox CloudGaming. According to the company, the objective is to bring as many games as possible from its catalog, even if they are not available on Game Pass.
“We are excited to share that, later this year, it is our intention to release the ability for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to play select games they already own or purchase outside of the Xbox Game Pass library from the cloud.”, announced Wiil Tuttle, editor-in-chief of the website Xbox Wire.
Despite the announcement, the company has not yet revealed which games will be included in the Xbox CloudGaming, despite implying that the focus may be primarily on titles first party. However, Microsoft's will is that, in a short period of time, more genres will be available on its service.
