Asus announced at Computex the Zenbo, a “homemade” robot intended to be a friend and helper for children, adults and the elderly who need a strength with electronic products.
The robot was shown to the public this Tuesday (30) by the director of Asus, Jonney shih. The machine has been described as a smart home manager, security guard, kitchen assistant and family photographer.

Despite looking a lot like an old iMac G4, Zenbo has features similar to Amazon Echo, by providing recipes and recommendations to users via voice command, in addition to logging into accounts, entering passwords and taking pictures. Asus also made a point of emphasizing the usefulness of the Zenbo for elderly users: in a company video, an elderly person falls close to the robot and, instead of helping him, the robot takes photos and sends them to his granddaughter, warning about the person in danger.
O Zenbo is still able to sing songs, tell stories and even function as a tutor for children. With a height that reaches, on average, the knee of an average adult, the product will reach the market costing $599. The video below shows how the little robot works.
