Angry Birds is an indisputably successful game and has over 2,8 billion downloads in its mobile version. THE Rovio, creator of the franchise, revealed that its profits dropped 73% in 2014 and this is one of the reasons why the company bets on Angry Birds the film to heat up sales merchandising which, in turn, fell by 40%. The movie adaptation of the game had a budget of 175 million dollars and below we have the first official teaser from the long!

In the trailer we see angry birds learning to control their anger, or at least trying to. On a seemingly idyllic island lives Red, our protagonist with temper problems. Initially the official teaser shows why Red is angry and how birds work to control their anger. But the island that was inhabited only by happy birds that don't know how to fly suddenly receives an unexpected visit from little green pigs.

And now, what are the pigs up to? It will be up to Red; Bomb, a volatile and explosive bird; and the speedy Chuck find out.

Directing and Launching

The animation direction is in charge of Clay Kaytis e Fergal Reilly. Clay has his name in the credits of heavy animations: Fronzen: A Frozen Adventure, Wreck-It Ralph, Tangled and Mulan. Fergan was also present in well-known works: It's raining hamburger, Spider-Man 2, Stuart Little 2 and Space Jam: the game of the century. But it is the first time that both will be directors.

The screenplay was written by Jon Vitti who participated as a screenwriter on Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, The Simpsons: The Movie and The Simpsons TV series.

And dads: get ready to take your kids to theaters in May of 2016 which is the Expected date for the release of the animation!

Cast

Jason Sudeikis (Richard Bastion in GTA IV), will bring the voice of Red. none other than Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister – GoT) will lend his voice to Mighty eagle. In the list we also have Bill Hader dubbing minion pigs e Josh Gad (warm hugs in Frozen) ceding his voice to Chuck.

Maya Rudolph (Aunt Cass in Operation Big Hero) will also be in the cast as the voice of Matilda.

Danny McBride (GTA V, Duane Earl; Kung Fu Panda 2, Wolf Boss) will voice Bomb.

We don't know if Rovio's animation in partnership with Sony will be fun or box office record, but we already know that Angry Birds: the movie has already gone down in history for being the first mobile game adapted for the big screen.
