Due to its success, it didn't take long for DreamWorks to become Walt Disney Animation's biggest competitor and clash with the animations of Disney and Pixar studios. Jeffrey Katzenberg, which is today Executive Director of DreamWorks, has even become president of Walt Disney Studios and was responsible for the competitor's great successes, such as Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin e The Lion King. In addition, he also had a great influence on the purchase of Pixar and on the movie Toy Story, a project that started the success of the studio at the time.

The reasons that led Jeffrey to leave his position are uncertain, but rumors point out that he would have fallen out with Michael Eisner, executive director of the Walt Disney Company at the time, after he was not promoted.
