A startup I counted receives investment from SoftBank Latin America in a round of type C investments. The company did not disclose the value of the investment, but the proposal is to use the money to expand the startup's financial services.
For this, Contabilizei must establish a partnership with financial institutions to offer new services to customers, such as credit cards, for example. It is worth remembering that the startup already offers a free digital checking account for legal entities (PJ). With the contribution of Softbank and the introduction of new financial services, Contabilizei must bring its business model closer to fintechs.
In an article published by the newspaper The Globe, Vitor Torres, founder of Contabilizei, highlighted the importance of the investment, stating that this was the first time that Softbank invested in a startup Brazilian with “solutions of back office for SMEs” (Small and Medium Enterprises). Although the value of Softbank's contribution was not disclosed, Contabilizei managed to obtain an amount of around R$ 100 million in previous investments, promoted by the funds Kaszek, IFC (World Bank), quona e Point72.

Contabilizei receives investment and makes expansion plans
Contabilizei receives investment and intends to double in size this year and one of the objectives is to increase the number of employees. The company intends to open approx. 300 vacancies for 2021, including remote work positions. With offices in Curitiba (PR) and São Paulo (SP), Contabilize already has openings for various positions, with options for remote work. Vacancies can be found at company career site.
In an interview with InfoMoney, Vitor Torres highlighted that the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the need for people to be able to “open and manage their companies via cell phone or computer”. And he highlighted the growth of Contabilizei in 2020. In January, startup it had 10 customers and in December it reached 30, and the goal for 2021 is to reach 60 customers.

According to Vitor Torres, a traditional accounting firm should serve an average of 80 to 100 clients, while Contabilizei has 30 active clients in 50 Brazilian cities. Offering digital accounting services is one of the great differentials of the business, as Contabilizei is not limited to geographic barriers like traditional offices, being able to serve people from various regions. Torres also did not reveal the revenue of the startup but ensured that revenue has been growing annually, as well as the number of customers.
