It is rather exhausting to think that the synonym of cinema for the great masses, in 2022, is superhero film. Not because they're not fun, but because of the massive amount of productions of the next type being released since the Avengers became the pop phenomenon they are today.
But that's a lot about Marvel, right? THE DC, married batman, superman and others, has been having problems in recent years, with the universe created by Zack Snyder not exactly something that many fans enjoy. What was the publisher's solution, then, to try to solve this problem? Create a film that mixes the saturation of superheroes with the brucutu films of the The Rock – and the result is black adam, a film like so many others. Check out our review below:
Rampant action, little development
In the former Kahndaq, teth adam earned the right to use the powers of the gods by shouting the word "Shazam!” but instead of using it for good, he used it for his own gain in a revenge campaign that ended with his imprisonment – being awakened some five thousand years later, in present times.
The whole premise of the film is then a kind of captain America less good, with the other heroes of the Justice Society of America, a classic comic book group that hits the big screen in this feature, coming into direct conflict with the Black Adam of The Rock, calling him a danger while he doesn't do much more than be a character of The Rock, until a common villain temporarily brings them together for a great final showdown.

There isn't much else to comment on in terms of argument in Black Adam – the film is exactly what we expect from a feature film The Rock, and that's not to say it's bad – it's fun, a lot, but it's like spending two hours, being entertained and then not remembering anything.
The performances are indeed good – The Rock is playing a different role from what has been common for him in recent years, being less clumsy and using his muscles more in a “mean” way, and a special highlight is also with Aldis hodge, who brilliantly interprets the Black Hawk – and has already aroused the rage of many comic book fans for the character's racial change, even if he is a fictional being with wings. Complicated.
But these interpretations, in the end, are also sidelined by the film's enormous love of action scenes, with some working and others already being a little dull. It's a little difficult since, at the beginning, I was actually having a lot of fun in the movie, but I was saturated halfway with so much bullshit – and mainly because the guiding line, for much of the film, is the famous brawl between heroes , something used to exhaustion already in this type of film.
At the same time, it is undeniable that it is a more fun film than previous DC, and in a way it's good to say this through the thought that he doesn't have as many infamous jokes as is common in this genre - he seems to be a junction of positives and that critics increasingly talk about in this type of cinema at the same time that, for fear of not being successful, he continues to use other clichés.
Conclusion: Black Adam is one of the movies ever made
Writing this review, I thought a lot if I could call Black Adam of an experiment in the superhero genre. It's not, and for me to think about it, it's even a certain disrespect for film criticism as a whole - it has positives, negatives, but above all it knows what kind of content it belongs to. And he knows how to sell himself too, especially with the post-credits scene already showing what the next possible conflict will be DC on the big screen.
I didn't leave sad or satisfied. Black Adam, post all this. I left completely indifferent, with my life going the same way it had before. I disconnected from her for the time of the film, no doubt, which is a basic objective of any work of entertainment, so I'm glad you did the basics, but there's nothing to think about, there's nothing to swallow.
Black Adam can be a success, the character of The Rock it might become quite popular with movie fans, but the reality is that the movie is no big deal. It exists, it serves its purpose and that's it. How good is this in the long run, both for the DC as for cinema as a whole, only time will tell – but my impressions, at the moment, are not the most optimistic.
