Daisy Ridley could be the next Lara Croft

The young British actress Daisy Ridley, who recently came out of anonymity to play Rey in the movie Star Wars The Force Awakens, was quoted to interpret Lara Croft in the next film in the franchise. Not much is known about the new Tomb Raider, specific story points are being kept under wraps, however it is known that it will be a reboot of the series, bringing possibly an early adventure from the toughest archeologist in history.

The new feature is written by Evan Daugherty, who has written films like Divergent and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and directed by Roar Uthaug. It's still too early to say that Daisy will be the next Croft, as the actress follows a tight schedule and is filming Star Wars: Episode VIII, and there have been no official negotiations yet.

The film series had actress Angelina Jolie playing one of the strongest female characters in the world of video games.

Tomb Raider returned to the top after the game series reboot with the award-winning Tomb Raider (2013) and Rise of The Tomb Raider (2015).
