- When are the episodes of Daredevil: Reborn released?
Daredevil: Reborn is the newest series of marvel television, television content division of Marvel Studios. The first two episodes, released this Tuesday, March 4, rescue the story of the acclaimed production of Netflix (2015-2018) and officially integrates it into Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Understand how the series can connect the dark past of Defenders to the UCM and discover the ideal order to watch the productions.
What is the story of Daredevil: Reborn?
The plot of the character's new series begins years after the events of the original series, shown on Netflix until 2018. In it, matt murdock (Charlie cox) is presented as a blind lawyer who, after suffering an accident with a radioactive substance, gained special abilities. He uses his great talents in martial arts to fight crime as the vigilante demolisher, acting especially in your neighborhood, Hell's kitchen (Hell's Kitchen), in New York.
Daredevil: Reborn takes place years after the end of the original series, in which Matt stopped acting as a vigilante, but continues his fight for justice as a lawyer. Thus, the new series is set chronologically after the plots of She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes (2022) and Eco (2024). In the new season, which aims to explore political conflicts in New York, the former mobster and great villain of the previous series, Wilson Fisk, King of crime (Vincent D'Onofrio), returns to the city, but now serves as mayor.
In addition to the return of Charlie cox e Vincent D'Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll e Elden henson reinterpret the protagonist's closest friends, karen page e Foggy Nelson. The series also reintroduces Benjamin Poindexter, the Mercenary (Wilson Bethel), antagonist of the third season of Netflix, now with an army of followers. Jon Bernthal also reprises his iconic role as Punisher, a character who should have a TV special in 2026. The plot also features Kirsten McDuffie (Nikki M James), Murdock's new ally.
Just like the version of Netflix, Daredevil: Reborn follows the line of adult productions with characters from Marvel – a possibility that was highly questioned due to Marvel only commonly produce children's and youth content. The announcement of the high indicative rating took place on New York Comic Con, in October 2024, and was celebrated by fans for allowing the series' extremely graphic combat violence to remain.

A Netflix began building a kind of television universe after the launch of demolisher, in 2015, when the Marvel Studios (at the time responsible only for the publisher's cinematographic content) used to disregard the events of the TV series (like SHIELD agents).
In this context, the Netflix distributed six successful series among the public: demolisher, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron fist, The Defenders e Punisher. Betting on the “urban core” of Marvel heroes, but without the glamorous The platform tried to replicate, on TV, the success of interconnected narratives between characters. Why did the Marvel series on Netflix end?
After structuring an entire universe Marvel on your platform, why Netflix abruptly shut down all programs? The answer is not simple, but involves a combination of factors, such as: corporate strategies, audience and changes in the streaming market. The latter is perhaps the most relevant factor here, considering the implementation of Disney +, service of Disney which aimed to concentrate all (or almost all) of the content under its umbrella, which includes Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar and others.
For Netflix, according to the journalist Mark Hughes, Forbes, this change meant a conflict of interests. After all, the series of Marvel on the platform were produced with money from Netflix, but the copyright still belonged to Disney. That is, the Netflix invested heavily in productions that he could not control in the long term.
With Disney + on the horizon, the Netflix preferred to focus on his own projects, such as Stranger Things e The Witcher, of which it has full autonomy. For the Disney, it also made more sense to migrate the heroes to their own service, where they could connect to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Other Daredevil appearances in the MCU
Despite only getting his solo series now, the demolisher de Charlie cox has appeared in other productions before. See which ones:
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
In the movie Spider-Man: No Return Home, Cox made a brief appearance as matt murdock, acting as a lawyer for Peter Parker (Tom Holland), Or Spider-Man, and offering legal guidance to the young hero after his identity was revealed and he was accused of murder. This appearance served to introduce the character to the MCU.
She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes (2022)
Cox later reprises his role in She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes. In the series, Matt Murdock becomes romantically involved with Jennifer walters (tatiana maslany), also known as Hulk Woman. Both Cox and Maslany have already shown interest in reprising the “romance” between the characters in a future opportunity in the MCU.
Eco (2024)
In 2024, Charlie cox appeared as demolisher on the Serie Eco, centered on maya lopez (alaqua cox). In the plot, his character is presented as one of Maya's antagonists.
