We recently reviewed the new smartphone from Samsung, Galaxy A54 5G. The device proved to be an incredible option for those looking for a pleasant experience even without having to spend all their salaries on a smartphone.
That said, I came here to pass on to you, dear reader, some tips that will make all the difference in the use with the new device and also with the models Galaxy A34, A24 and A14.
Watch the video on the Showmetech Channel:
Enable battery percentage in notification bar

Although the Galaxy A54 already come with the percentage function enabled, you can be one of the people who don't like it appearing up there in the status bar. If you are one of these, the solution is simple and quick.
From any screen on your Galaxy, pull the top part down until the three dots icon appears in the upper right part. Tap on the icon and then on the status bar. On the next screen you will find the option Display battery percentage.
Record calls automatically

The app Phone dos Galaxy has been updating and in the latest versions, the call recording function is native to it. To activate, there are not many secrets. Open the app and then tap the icon with three dots at the top right.
Tap on settings and then on record calls. The menu that will open will have some function settings, but the main one is “Automatically record calls”. Give the necessary permissions and that's it, you will already have this function released on your Galaxy A54.
lock screen style

I particularly love customizing my smartphones and I think it's even better when these options come native to the device. In case of Galaxy A54 e Galaxy A34, you can customize it with just a few taps and make it your own.
In the device settings, go to "Lock screen". Look for the Lock screen icon and then tap edit. Once this is done, a screen will open for you with all the customization details.
The options involve changing the type of clock, its font and color, how notifications will appear, whether you want to add information about yourself in case you lose your device, as well as changing the quick access icons at the bottom. If you wish, you will still have an alternative way to configure your wallpaper here.
optimize performance

Nobody likes to use a device that chokes, right? That's why it's extremely important to always check the status of your smartphone. In the case of the Galaxy A54, this function even optimizes the performance of the settings.
To do this, go to the settings and then on Device and battery support. If there is something wrong with your smartphone, the system will report everything to you here. Also, this is where you see the situation of your storage, RAM and battery.
Taking advantage of the momentum, I noticed that the latest version of OneUI (Samsung custom interface) added a new function called automatic optimization. When activated, your smartphone will automatically restart from time to time when you are not using it, optimizing its settings.
Remove system animations

Whether you're sensitive to system animations or simply a personal choice to make the device appear faster, the Galaxy A54 has this function and natively. Unlike what happened a few years ago, in this case, you no longer need to access developer mode to do so.
In the settings, go to the options for Accessibility and then in Visibility improvements. On this page, scroll down until you find the option remove animations. After that, this issue will be resolved.
Capture screen (take print)

The famous graphic works (or screenshots) are available on all electronics these days. If you are already used to using the feature, you know that just press the volume button (minus) with the power button and that's it, we have a screenshot. However, the OneUI brings a little more interactivity.
In addition to the conventional method, you can pull the status bar and search for Print Screen there. If you tap the icon, it will capture the screen, but if you tap the text, it will open a resource settings menu. This is where another interesting feature of the Galaxy A54.
In addition to being able to remove the status bar from your screenshots, you can also activate a gesture for screenshots. The option Swipe hand side to capture allows you to take screenshots of your screen in a more interactive way by doing this gesture.
Change call background
Still on personalization, in your Galaxy A54 you can even make your call background more interesting. That's because you can change it with images, videos, a solid color or create the most diverse videos with the Emoji AR from Samsung.
To change this, let's go back to the app Phone device and then touch the three dots icon. Then go to settings. On the screen that opens, go to call background. The left button will change how the information will appear at the time of the call. The one on the right will change the background and that's where everything gets more fun, if you want.
By default, there will be three options to choose from on this screen. One with static colors that will change with each connection, another with video colors that will also change with each connection, and finally one that will use several random AR Emojis to make everything more fun.
However, if you tap the button with a “+” at the top, you can pull videos and images from your gallery and also create the most varied things in the app. Emoji AR.
Block unwanted (non-spam) contacts
Still in the app Phone, go back to the settings and in the first option you will already find the option block numbers🇧🇷 In addition to power Block calls from unknown numbers, you can add specific numbers to your blacklist.
The interesting thing is that you can enter a number or simply use your contact list, or recent numbers for that. In case you're running away from some annoying relative, for example, there's the function you needed.
nightography mode

The night mode for photographs has finally arrived on Samsung's A line. O Galaxy A54 was chosen to be the first intermediary with top-of-the-line technology here at Samsung. But what about using it, how do you do it?
There are two ways to do this, one happens naturally when the lighting isn't helping and the other you can activate manually by going to More when opening the camera app and choosing the option Nightly.
gesture navigation
Navigating the smartphone using the conventional buttons may be getting its days numbered and maybe there is no smartphone left that doesn't have gesture navigation. In case of Galaxy A54, this gives you even more possibilities.
Assuming you're not too keen on stylish navigation iOS, there are two other options here. In the settings of Viewfinder, search for Navigation bar. In this menu, you'll be able to choose between conventional buttons and swiping gestures.
The flip key here is in the gesture settings which allows you to use it stylishly. iOS or switch to slide from below. In this configuration, instead of buttons, you'll have three little lines at the bottom that will react according to your configuration, but still with gestures.
Separate sounds by app
Let's say your smartphone is being used as a source for music at a party, so you get a WhatsApp message or a call. By default, all this will be heard by everyone through the bluetooth device used at that moment.
That's where the cat jump comes in with this function of OneUI, allowing you to separate the sounds of the apps, leaving them exclusive to bluetooth devices. To do this, just go to the settings and then sounds and vibration. In that menu, look for Separate app sound, activate it and configure the apps you want to use this function.
Test your hearing with Adapt Sound
O Adapt Sound is a feature available in the settings of the Galaxy that allows you to configure the sound of your smartphone so that it is better and healthier for your ears.
To change this, go to the settings of sounds and vibration and look for Sound quality and effects. On that page, the last option is what we're looking for. In it, you can choose whether you want the technology to work only for calls, media or both, in addition to being able to configure everything, according to your age.
DualMessenger
O DualMessenger already in the system Samsung a few years ago and it is very useful for those who need to use more than one WhatsApp ou Telegram on the same device, for example.
To activate it, we have to go to the Advanced features in our settings Galaxy A54 and then touch dual messenger. On the screen that opens, you will have the app options available for the feature. When that happens, the system will install a second version of that same app, allowing you to have two of their accounts on the same device.
pop-up screen
For those looking for a more advanced use of multitasking, the Galaxy A54 brings you the feature you needed. That's because you can leave a small screen in the background in the corner or just a little balloon of the app that you want to run there while you browse something else.
To do this, just have both apps open and open the recent apps. Then just tap and hold on the app you want to pop up. The coolest thing is that you can change the transparency, size and several other things.
Customize the Edge Screen
The Edge Screen first appeared there on the late Galaxy S6 Edge and was exclusive to Samsung's top of the line. Time has passed and today we have it on the most diverse devices, including the new Galaxy A54. By default, it only comes with a simple app tab that can be accessed by pulling the drawer at the top right of the screen.
But if we go to the settings of Viewfinder and then in Edge Panels, we will find all possible settings, allowing you to disable the function, change its color, position, size, transparency and much more.
Hide Apps
If for some reason you want to hide an app from your list, we have that option in the OneUI in an easy way. just go to the settings of the device and then Home screen. When scrolling this screen, you will finally find the option Hide apps on Home screen and Apps screen.
In the list that will open, just choose the apps you want to no longer appear on the home screen and press ok. Just remember that this doesn't delete the apps from the system, it just hides them, so it's more of an organization method.
native antivirus
Keeping your smartphone secure is of paramount importance. A Samsung knows this and put a native antivirus in the system of their recent smartphones, as in Galaxy A54. To configure, enter the device settings and then Device and battery support. On this screen, you will find the option device protection. Tap on it and follow the steps to then verify the device and keep it under control from there.
Customize screen recording
Just like we configured the screenshot functions before, we also have something similar, but for videos. For this, in your Galaxy A54, go to Advanced features in the settings and then in Screenshots and screen recorder. At the bottom of this menu, you'll have video settings that involve quality, if you're going to have sound, if you're going to use the selfie video when recording, and among other functions.
Eyes open in facial recognition

To let this method of unlocking your Galaxy A54 safer, it is important that the option “demand open eyes” is activated. For that, go to Biometry in the settings of Safety and Privacy. In Facial recognition, after registering your face, you will have this option that should already be activated by default, but it doesn't hurt to check it out, right?
Enabling “Fetch My Phone”

Taking advantage of the subject about security, one of the most important functions that you need to activate in your new Galaxy A54 is “Search my phone”. Again in the options Safety and Privacy, search for fetch my phone and follow the steps to register your account Samsung and leave everything alone. That done, whenever you need it, just access findmymobile.samsung.com. On this site, you will be able to find the device and among other things.
Last but not least, in the Safety and Privacy, activate the feature Offline location so you can find it even in the most delicate situations.
lift to activate
To facilitate access to the device and not have to press the power button every time, the Galaxy A54 It has some pretty cool gestures. One of them is that of lift to activate the screen, which works by using the device's gyroscope to turn the screen on when its angle is aimed at your face.
To enable this feature, go to Movements and gestures our Advanced features. In the first option you will already have the option to activate or deactivate this trick.
Decreasing battery consumption in the background
I can say that the autonomy of the Galaxy A54 it's excellent, but in any case, it can happen that you have that annoying app that consumes more battery than it should in the background. To help you with this, you can go back in the settings, in Device and battery support, touch Battery and then in Background usage limits.
On this screen you will have some options, so that you can better manage what you want to be limited or not in the system.
Digital well-being
As the name suggests, with the Digital well-being you guarantee a healthier life in this technological world that we have daily on the smartphone. Through it, we can see how much time we spend on the apps, we limit the time for each one, in addition to a report on how many times we unlock the device, for example.
If you feel like using this resource, know that it is already installed on the Galaxy A54 and just access the settings and look for Digital well-being. Then just configure it the way you like.
silence with gestures

Imagine you are in the middle of a meeting or any other situation that requires your attention and suddenly your smartphone starts ringing. The most natural thing to happen is for you to despair and try to turn it off as quickly as possible so as not to make any noise. But what if you could just flip the phone and presto, muted?
Returning to Advanced features in the settings, go to Movements and gestures and at the bottom, let's activate silence with gestures so that next time you just need to place your hand on the screen or turn the device over.
block spam
Getting spammed is one of the most annoying things we have in the tech world. To resolve this, the Galaxy A54 it already comes from the factory with a feature to stop this problem. Open the app again Phone, go in the settings through the button with three dots at the top right and that's it, what we are looking for is the second option on this screen.
Customize call display
In addition to customizing when you receive a call, Galaxy A54 it also lets you choose how the system reacts to them while working with other applications. still in the app Phone, in the settings, look for Call display when using apps and choose the option that you find most interesting.
Lock screen widgets

With the screen locked, if you touch the clock, you will have access to some quick menus, such as the music player, voice recorder and others. The point is, you can decide what will show up here. Going back to the settings Lockscreen and then in Widgets, you'll be able to configure what the quick icons on your lock screen will look like, whether it's the order of the widgets or which ones will be there.
block on shutdown

A very important security measure is to prevent third parties from being able to deactivate basic functions on your device without first passing a password. Therefore, I strongly suggest you activate the Lock on shutdown. With it, whenever someone tries to turn off your Galaxy A54, you will have to enter your password first.
To activate, let's go back to Safety and Privacy and then in Lock on shutdown. By default, this function should already be active, but it doesn't hurt to check it on your smartphone.
Customize notification bar
In your Galaxy A54 you can move the notification bar so that it looks like you and of course, much more accessible. To do this, pull it down twice and then tap on the three dots icon at the top right.
Once that's done, tap edit buttons and have fun. Here, by tapping and holding the icons, you customize their order and at the top you can bring up other buttons to join in the fun.
Operate with one hand
In case you are in an uncomfortable moment where to use your Galaxy A54 ou Galaxy A34 with a single hand doesn't work, you can use this function to optimize the screen for that. Called One-handed operation mode, you can activate it in the Advanced features.
Once it's active, how to use it will depend on how you use the system. If using gestures, you just have to swipe from top to bottom on the scratchy of the gestures. If you are using the virtual buttons, double-tap the home button.
Smart Lock
O Smart Lock It's a very interesting resource and it goes very well with gestures that activate the screen, such as lift to activate. Smart Lock uses your location, for example, to keep your device unlocked while you're in that location. Another case is when you connect to a trusted device.
I'm particularly afraid to use this function and I only keep it active at home. If you are interested in activating it on your Galaxy A54, just go to settings Lockscreen and then in Smart Lock. Here you will have to enter your password and some other data and then configure the feature.
Dark Mode
Basically a feature that — luckily — is in everything these days, in your Galaxy A54 ou Galaxy A34 you can leave everything indark mode” in a simple and fast way. For this, we go to the settings of Viewfinder and right in the first option you have the two system options, the Clear or the Dark.
The interesting thing is that if you go to the Dark Mode Settings, you can activate as scheduled, like From Dusk Till Dawn or simply schedule a custom appointment.
eye comfort
Still in the settings area of the Viewfinder, Galaxy A54 bring the call eye comfort, function that serves to make you more comfortable in night use. It basically leaves your smartphone's screen with warmer tones, removing excess blue light from it, which would be more aggressive to the eyes.
In the function's settings, you can make it adaptive, where the system will learn from its use to activate the feature based on that. Or else you can customize it with a specific time.
Screen mode
Another interesting customization option for the Galaxy A54 it's the one Screen mode. In this configuration, you can better define which type of color you like for use on the device. This includes the color options. Vivid e Natural. On Vivid you can control the white balance level and still have an advanced color setting. To access, go back to the settings of Viewfinder and then go to Screen mode.
Always on Display

Something very interesting on the screens Super Amoled da Samsung is the beautiful use of the function Always on Display (also called Always On Screen). This feature allows you to see notifications, music, clock and other information in a simpler way and with almost no battery drain.
To activate it, let's go to the settings and then on Lockscreen. In this menu, you will find the button always on display. On the right you can activate it and by tapping on the name you can personalize it. This customization ranges from how the resource will work to what will be visible when it is active.
Turn off on Side Key

By default, holding the power key down Galaxy A54 will activate the Bixby, but let's face it, practically nobody uses the poor thing. Therefore, you can configure this action so that it works the way we are used to. To change this setting, we'll need to go to Advanced features in the settings and then in Side key. In the option of hold down, let's change from Activate Bixby all with off menu. And that's it, the next time you hold the power button, the menu to turn off the device will appear instead of Bixby.
Customize double tap
If you press the power button twice in a row, you will be directed straight to the camera, but be aware that it is possible to change the function of this gesture. The path is the same as in the previous tip, in the configuration of Side key. The difference is that now we are going to change the properties of Press twice. In addition to the default option, you can choose any other app you want, or just deactivate this function on your Galaxy A54.
Decreasing the refresh rate
Having a higher refresh rate makes any system more beautiful and fluid, but there are those who prefer to keep everything at 60 FPS to save battery and that's super fair. If you are one of those people, the Galaxy A54 allows you to define this fluidity in the settings.
Going back to the settings Viewfinder, let's look in this menu for the call Smoothness of movement. Upon entering this screen, you will have two options: Adaptable e Sensors. The first will adapt to the content and can reach up to 120Hz. Already the Sensors will be limited to 60Hz, but with greater battery savings.
Adding style to the system
With the advent of newer versions of Android, OneUI it has also been updated and brought you some very interesting visual novelties. One of them is called Style and it's basically a way for you to make the whole system talk to a color palette or the color palette of your wallpaper.
To apply this effect to your Galaxy A54, we have to go in the settings and then in Wallpaper and Style. In this menu, enter Color palette and enable the feature. Automatically you will have 16 color palette options based on your wallpaper. On the same screen there is the option basic colors for you who want something simpler and finally, you can choose Apply color palette to icons, leaving the whole system speaking the same language.
stack of widgets

Another super cool feature that arrived in the latest version of OneUI is stack of widgets. If you are a hardcore widget user then you know that finding space for all of them is not an easy task so this comes as a great solution.
Basically, with this function you can stack several widgets in a single space on your home screen. Galaxy A54, making everything more harmonious and beautiful. To do this, just tap and hold the screen until the widgets option appears at the bottom. Choose your first widget and then tap and hold on it until the option create stack come up and that's it.
