On this last Monday, September 12th, the Apple made available the iOS 16, the new update for the company's smartphones, from iPhone 8 to the newly launched line iPhone 14. New features include a new lock screen, improvements to the Focus app, new Messaging features, Quick Notes that was only seen on iPads and much more! Come see with us a list of the best tips to enjoy iOS 16!
Change the lock screen

Nothing like using a resource that already exists in your ecosystem, right? Borrowing a trick from Apple Watch, iOS 16 lets you tap and hold a lock screen to add new images and switch between them. Each lock screen can be customized on the “Customize now“, so you can change fonts, how the date is displayed, add widgets, and more. By selecting the blue plus icon, you can add even more wallpapers to the gallery, so you can switch easily.
Focus Enhancement

Launching iOS 15 last year, Apple went beyond Do Not Disturb with Focus, a feature that helps you focus on what is needed on a daily basis. Each lock screen can have a specific Focus attached, to help you quickly identify and switch settings. And Focus filters in settings now let you filter inboxes, group Safari tabs, and more, based on the selected profile.
media sharing

Access the following path: Settings > Photos > Shared Albums. You can now create a Shared Photo Library from iCloud, allowing you to share an entire library, or individual photos, based on people, dates, or just a manual selection of photos, with up to five other users. But be aware that when accessing and activating this new feature, the library will consume your internal storage. Any of the users present, in addition to being able to include photos in the shared folder, will also be able to perform actions such as editing or deleting images.
New general settings

In Tweaks there are now more settings to explore with iOS 16. On the way Settings > Notifications > DISPLAY AS, you can adjust the appearance of notifications on the lock screen; On the previous screen, go to Sound and Touch to adjust the volume of the keyboard touch; on Wi-Fi, you can copy and paste passwords; On the Home Screen, you can hide or not the new Search feature on the main screen, by changing it to “Show on Home Screen”; and also Game Center has had a major profile overhaul, as well as Family Checklist describes useful features more easily.
More safety

Apple continues to explore ways for people to protect their privacy. In Settings > Privacy and Security > Security Check, you can check which people and apps have access to your information and make adjustments or reset them. Block Mode, which is at the bottom of this screen, is a more extreme feature that offers a helping hand in case you are the target of a cyber attack.
Privacy in Photos

In the Photos app, go to Albums and scroll all the way down. Apparently nothing has changed here, remaining the same resources and folders that were already in iOS 15. The novelty is for the privacy that is now granted to folders "hidden items"and "Off“. To access them it is now necessary to use Face ID — but if that doesn't work in two attempts, entering the unlock code will also give access to these folders.
Live text on videos

Live Text now works with video. O "live text” is the feature that allows you to take pictures of words to copy and paste them wherever you want, but now in addition to photos, the feature has been improved to also be used in static frame videos. It tries to provide actions based on selected content as well. At first the novelty can be seen a little unstable, but when it works, it offers link buttons and even currency conversion.
scheduled emails

In the Mail app, it is now also possible to write an email and schedule a day and time to be sent. After composing the email, click and press the send button — a white arrow in a blue ball, which is in the upper right corner — until a list of options appears. Select “Submit Later…” to schedule the exact time you want the email to be triggered. In addition, it is now also possible to create reminders for you to read emails at another time and also to undo the sending of recently sent emails.
Reminders in email

When writing an email, tap the bell icon that appears when you click the Subject to be notified when replies to this email arrive. For a message that is already in your inbox, swipe it to the right, tap Remember me and so you will also receive a notification to check that email at another time.
More wallpapers

In addition to the quick access tip that we taught at the beginning, it is still possible to do it in another way. Go to Settings > Background image and you can access the new gallery for wallpapers, which even now can generate images based on emojis, weather conditions and astronomy, in addition to any photos, whether saved or taken.
Image interaction with the system

By pressing the lock screen and selecting the blue button with positive sign, will open a series of wallpaper customizations. On the top bar, the first icon, Photos, allows you to select any image that is already in your photo gallery. When selecting one of them, do pincer movement to adjust your location so you will see how to enter it under system information like time, widgets, date and etc.
New layout with songs

Now when a song is playing, on the lock screen a larger image will appear that refers to the track being played — and if you need to, you can click on this image so that it minimizes and you have access to the lock screen, to resume, just click again on the image of the song. By clicking on the name of the song, the application that is playing it will open.
track your health

When accessing the application Health go in Exploring > Pharmaceutical products, you will have a facilitator when you have to take your medicines. Without the need to download third-party applications or configure a new alarm, through this feature you fill in the data regarding the medications you take and that's it! Now just let the iPhone take care of you. Also remembering that if you let the app collect your health information, you can share it via PDF to email your doctor or someone who takes care of you, for example.
News in Time

The application Time, which refers to the local weather, looks the same, but when scrolling down the app, tap whatever option appears to view sunset times and averages, UV values throughout the day, and rain forecasts throughout the day. a week, for example. The weather map has also changed, with more fluid rain visuals.
New features in Messaging

New functions make it easier to share documents on Posts, as well as giving you the opportunity to edit and delete messages or mark them as unread. It is now also possible — just like e-mails — to undo sent messages, which are limited to 15 minutes after sending. To do so, click and press on the sent message and select “Undo Shipping” in the options that appear. The edition maintains a history that can be checked.
Remove background from photos

An extremely useful editing feature has arrived in iOS 16, which is removing background from photos. It's very easy: select the photo you want to remove the background, click and press what should be highlighted and now copy or share, so only what was selected will be saved, the background will be removed. It is possible to send directly through the applications that appear in the “Share” or choose “Copy” and send in any other way you like.
pin tabs

Another very interesting feature is the iPhone's built-in browser, the safari. It is now possible to pin tabs to make them highlighted. To do so, click and press the navigation bar — which by default is at the bottom of the page — and choose “pin tab“. Now whenever you browse between open tabs, the pinned tab will always be on the top bar.
no duplicates

With iOS 16, duplicate images or contacts can be removed. in the app Photos, when you scroll down the entire page, you will see the section “Duplicates“, in case there are duplicate images. Just access the folder to delete the duplicate items. Is at "Contact Us“, will appear immediately highlighted if there are contacts that appear twice. By selecting the option, you will be able to delete the surplus, leaving what is necessary: only one copy of the contact.
Fast notes

And last but definitely not least, another feature that is present in the Apple ecosystem has arrived on the iPhone: Quick Notes. access Settings > Control Center, scroll down a bit and select Quick Note. Now whenever necessary, just drag the upper right corner down and activate the Quick Notes icon — which is a kind of “scribbled sheet” — to make any kind of note. Once you're done and saved, you can review it in the Notes app.
