DoNotPay creates a link where you can share some streaming service without having to say the password.

With the idea of democratizing access to streaming platforms, the extension of the Chrome DoNotPay (Don't Pay), allows friends and family to share their service logins as Netflix e Spotify without the need to share access passwords.

To do this, you access the streaming platform of your choice with the extension installed on your Google Chrome, and then click on the icon DoNotPay to generate a link. After that, just copy and paste the link to whom you want to share the service, which will be available on their PC as well.

If the user wishes, the extension also allows sharing to work only through double links, that is, you share a service with your friend, and he shares another service with you. There is no limit on how many people can share the service, but there is a limit on how many devices can stream the same content simultaneously.

According to the CEO of DoNotPay, Joshua Browder, the idea came about because there are cases where the user simply regrets sharing passwords. In addition, he also explains that the feature works through the use of cookies to achieve the transfer of the link.

“The best thing about these cookies is that you have control, so with one click you can disable the cookie and prevent it from working”

explains Browder

Browder also mentions that the DoNotPay does not have access to the cookies themselves, using the system Very Good Security (Very Good Security, in free translation), which encrypts the information and these can only be seen by whoever the user allows.

The CEO also says he does not agree with the excess of streaming platforms.

"It's ridiculous. You shouldn't pay $100 a month to access something you previously owned for less.”

says Browder

It is worth noting that even without the password, people will have free access to their account, being able to make any type of change, such as adding or removing titles. On the other hand, they will not be able to change the password because the change can only be made if they know the previous one.

During the closing of the article, the plugin was removed in the Chrome Web Store under the argument of “violating the policies of the virtual store”. However, it can still be found easily on the web.
