Downloading YouTube videos reaches Premium users, here's how

Many consumers' wish for the biggest video streaming platform can now come true. It is now available — for now — the download videos from youtube in browsers for service subscriber accounts Premium. The tool test is live and will end in October 19. Check out how this new feature works.

How to download YouTube videos

To enable the new feature, you must have a YouTube Premium subscription. from that, go to the YouTube Premium Trial Features page and enable downloading videos using the browser.

To download the video you want to watch offline, there are two options. In the first, when accessing the search page or a channel, just click on the three dots which is right next to the video title, and then select the last option, “Download";

The other option is, after opening a video to watch, click on the “Download” which is now enabled, and is between the “Share"and "Save";

As you watch the video, it downloads. After a few moments, the platform will confirm that the video has been saved successfully;

How to watch downloaded YouTube videos in browser

To access your downloaded videos and watch them on another occasion, click on the three bars in the upper left corner and then on “Downloads";

On this screen, you can see all the videos that you have downloaded and that are available to be watched.

Downloading YouTube videos for Premium users, in addition to being available for a limited time, as it is a trial, is also strictly browser-based. In this case, Premium users who use Google Chrome, Opera ou Microsoft Edge and are up to date, can use the new feature. So far there is no position on the use of the feature in the mobile application.

Unlike other websites and/or applications that do this function in a similar way, YouTube will not provide a file for you to check later, in fact, the video in question will be saved on your page so that it can be viewed on the platform itself whenever you want.
