As the first Inverter air conditioner to bring a voltage of 127V, the LG, leader in the residential air conditioning sector Inverter, aims to provide customers with a way to offer energy efficiency for those who intend to use their new line of air conditioners.

According to a Marcel Souza, sales executive at LG Electronics in Brazil, consumers find it difficult to find a 127V air conditioner. This is the standard voltage in many cities in Brazil, and consumers are usually forced to change the electrical wiring in their homes — or to use transformers that compromise the performance of the device and shorten its useful life.

“Dual Inverter technology has a dual rotor that works with a frequency from 10Hz to 120Hz. This variation makes the equipment save up to 70% of energy and have up to 40% faster cooling. Today we are launching the product with 12.000 BTUs at 127v.”

Although it is still very common to talk about 110V, recently there was a decision to standardize the voltage at 127V, abandoning the old voltage of 110V (or even 115V). This past memory still strongly impregnated in the Brazilian vocabulary still leads to confusion between 110V and 127V.
