Have you heard of Duna? If you're a science-fiction fan, it certainly is. But if not, just know that Duna is one of the greatest sci-fi books ever written, and the first trailer for the latest adaptation has finally arrived, giving fans a glimpse into the director's vision. Denis Villeneuve. about the iconic romance of Frank Herbert. . It is worth remembering that the film had already been announced in April, when it was released its first image with the protagonist.

The cast of this new adaptation of the literary classic includes strong stars: Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Stellan Skarsgård, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista e Javier Bardem. Director Denis Villeneuve is no newcomer to epic sci-fi, having directed such hits as "The arrival" e "Blade Runner 2049". The trailer was revealed along with a Q&A session conducted by Steve Colbert, featuring Villeneuve and cast members discussing their thoughts on the upcoming film.

The new film adaptation of Duna arrives to try to redeem the story's reputation in theaters after the failure of first version 1984, which even had the singer Sting in the cast.

As the original story is comprised of a series of books published from the first title in 1965 to the most recent in 2017, Duna is planned to be the first of two films based on Herbert's original book. The film released this year is expected to cover the first half, while the second film (which does not yet have a title or release date) will cover the remainder of the novel. Duna will hit theaters in December 18, 2020.

A Warner Bros. is betting a lot that Duna will be your next big franchise. In addition, there is also a prequel series to the works in HBO Max entitled Dunes: The Sisterhood, which will focus on Bene Gesserit, the female society whose plans are at the center of the series.
