A EnterPlay started operations in the Brazilian market with the offer of an unprecedented platform for digital content, which brings together, in the same interface, TV (broadcast and pay), music, video on demand, games e aplicativos. The service can be accessed from any device (computer, tablet, smartphone, TV or set-top-box) connected to the internet with a single access password and billing invoice.
In the initial launch phase – until January 31, 2016 –, through a simple registration on the site, users can access, free of charge, some of the contents of the website. EnterPlay, including TV channels and video-on-demand titles. In addition, they also win a coupon to watch a game of one of the sports championships broadcast by the platform from January 20.
After that period, the EnterPlay starts offering iPTV plans with unlimited consumption, from R$19,90 per month (for packages with 15 high definition TV channels), and video on demand by R$19,90 monthly, with a collection of more than 2,5 thousand titles. In addition, approved internet providers can offer customers the platform, with packages with an initial price of $ 74,90 monthly, for 50 channels, of which 42 are in HD (high definition).
“We want to offer a new digital entertainment experience to Brazilian users. For this, we have developed plans that bring together the best content, with very competitive prices and innovative technologies. Users themselves can, from the platform, customize the contents and the amounts they will pay for them”, he says. Jorge Salles, COO of EnterPlay. “Furthermore, based on the reality of the internet in Brazil, we developed a video compression technology that adjusts the image quality to the user's broadband speed, minimizing the chances that the content will freeze during playback. The user can also monitor on the screen the delivery speed that their broadband/Wi-Fi is allowing to pass, at any given moment”, he adds.
According to the executive, the EnterPlay was created to fill important gaps in content distribution in Brazil. Among the main demands are the low penetration of pay-TV in class C; the tendency for users to increasingly want to access TV, audio and video through mobile devices; the increasing complexity of consumers dealing with multiple platforms and applications to access content; and the lack of space in current broadcasters for various sports and even for regional football championships.
One platform differentials are services for users, with novelties such as a cloud recorder, which allows you to record the program and view it from any connected device. Another innovation is the possibility to access and watch the last 24 hours' schedule – the channels whose recording is authorized by the programmers – and the 'reset' function, through which the subscriber can access from the beginning the content of the pay-TV programs that are being shown.
Each signature of EnterPlay allows registration of up to five devices and allows simultaneous access of content in two of them. The list of registered equipment can be updated at any time by the subscriber.
EnterPlay TV set-top box:
One of the main components of the platform is a Set-top-box, baptized of EnterPlay TV, that works as a digital converter, Wi-Fi access point and allows, through any television, to access the platform EnterPlay to watch movies, series, applications (Facebook, Skype, e-mail, etc.), games, browse the internet, among other features.
“The equipment can be hired independently from the service of the EnterPlay. O Set-top-box works as a digital converter and comes with some pre-installed applications, which work even without an internet connection. When it is connected to the web, it brings functionalities that go beyond a Connected TV”, explains Jorge Salles.
A Enter Play TV can be controlled through the equipment's remote control, as well as from any smartphone or tablet, thanks to a free application that can be downloaded from the Google Play (iSmartRCU). The version for iOS is scheduled for the first quarter of 2016.
The company also offers an optional remote control, the EnterPlay i8, with keyboard and touchpad wireless, aimed at facilitating internet browsing, social networks, games and other applications.
