Among the Stars: a promising project by Split Studio

Split Studio, widely recognized for national and international works of unique quality, launched a collective funding, through Catarse, to launch another game, the among the stars. Its new production will have elements of combat and resolution of puzzle in beautiful 2D environments, with very captivating characters, brutal survival dynamics and touching narratives.

The initial goal of through crowdfunding is R$150.000 and has already been beaten, after a few days on the air, very happily making its production possible. It is important to emphasize that the campaign will be active until the February 27 on the platform and has rewards such as the then key to access the game and wallpapers for computers and cell phones to a collection of posters and a “cool t-shirt”.

The narrative will present the sisters Tai and Ari, who will take different paths in the tragic story of a terrible and cruel ecocide, as well as crimes against indigenous peoples, in the Brazilian Pantanal. This fact will not only have great significance for the incredible narrative to come, about the struggle for survival and the fight against land grabbers, but also a considerable impact on the gameplay:

The studio

O split studio has extensive experience and experience in animation and has already delivered incredible works such as the last season of Rick & Morty, the last seasons of Maurício de Sousa Produções (from Turma da Mônica) and the highly awarded – nominated for the Oscar 2016 – O Menino e o Mundo. It is a studio capable of delivering creative processes in a complete way: from creation and development to post-production.

The Brazilian studio also has a portfolio of renowned animations made on major channels such as Cartoon Network and Comedy Central.

Although he has little experience with games, the studio's new project appears to be a great production, with a lot of creative maturity. In addition to using all their expertise in animation, their executive management intends to bring important references (Inside and Ori and the Blind Forest, for example) and a lot of effort to have, in all aspects of game design, a work in hand in the future.

Who does?

Entre as Estrelas (Among the Stars) will have multidisciplinary teams for the project, guaranteeing maximum quality to the final product. Its production will have great and experienced names: Renan Reixach (Game Designer), Graciela Guarani (Head of Script), Alex dos Ventos (Art and Animation), Nicole Nascimento Ansay (Production and Research), Jonas Brandão (Executive Producer) and many more .

After the last few years of very increasing numbers of deforestation in the Amazon and the humanitarian crisis of the Yanomami, the game seems to arrive in a very suitable context in Brazil, offering a beautiful critical media, with strong meanings of indigenous resistance and appreciation of multiple cultures and peoples. originating from this territory so punished by the Eurocentric history. 

To this end, the team also has indigenous professionals from different ethnic groups, who will develop a narrative inspired by the Kadiwéu and Guarani Kaiowá peoples in the future – and very promising – game, which will also make reference to mythological legends and stories of their ancestors.

The game will be released, scheduled for December 2025, for Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), PlayStation and Xbox. Its duration, extra content and DLCs will be made possible according to the goals defined and achieved by Catarse.
