More than a simple search engine, the Google It has several tools that help and increase user productivity. Among them is the Google Docs, a direct competitor text editor from Word da Microsoft. Its use is free for the individual user and integrated with the cloud — also part of the enterprise suite Google workspace — and now it has a new feature that promises to improve the usability of the text editor: writing and sending emails.

The new feature was announced last Tuesday (15) by Google. The novelty is part of the initiative Smart Canvas, whose goal is to unite the Mountain View giant's main productivity platforms, such as Meet, Docs e gmail, which already work with great collaboration between them. called email draft, the feature will be available to all users of the Google workspace, and plan users G Suite Basic e Business.

According to Google, in the coming weeks the feature will be available to most users. Inside workspace, users of fast-release domains will have the feature released within 15 days from March 15th, and users of scheduled-release domains will have to wait for it to be released a little later, possibly more than 15 days from March 22. However, there is still no release date of the draft email for free accounts of gmail.

How will it be possible to write and send emails through Docs?

O Google Docs is known for editing texts that can be shared with others. At the same time, it is now possible to edit, comment and format a document with some ease because the tool works online and synchronized with the cloud. The new feature of Smart Canvas aims to increase collaboration Docs to gmail. All information such as email body, subject and recipient (including Cc and Bcc) may be created and shared together or with another user's review by Google Docs, which can be very useful for sending emails that need review or approval.

The function should apply a structure similar to the windows used to write and send emails from the gmail. You can access the model in two different ways: by typing @ and choosing the option email draft or through the menu Insert and then choosing the option email draft. After selecting the new resource, it is possible to have access to the spaces to also insert the recipient and the subject of the message.

At the end of the e-mail writing process, it will be possible to send it by clicking on the gmail and completing the process in the pop-up window that will open, with the layout and all the features of the gmail — which will even allow you to add attachments — already filled in with all the information available in the draft. In this way, the contribution already present in the documents of the Google will now also be applied to writing and sending emails.
