Facebook app for iPad official

After a long wait, they finally released the official Facebook app for iPad (and updated the iPod/iPhone too!). On the iPad, the app supports everything you might expect from a tablet app: swiping, pinch-to-zoom:

First, and most visible, is the News Feed, which should become the timeline in the future. We have a two-panel layout, with your actual feed on the right. On the left side navigation, you have quick access to games, applications, groups, etc. The big revamp comes to the photos, which come in three rows of large thumbnails and if you select a single photograph then it would take up almost all of your screen with just a small strip of thumbnails to view the rest of your photos in the background.

Why did it take so long to be released? Former Facebook developer Jeff Verkoeyen said the app had been ready since May, but had not been released due to a disagreement between the social network and Apple. Facebook, initially intended to be a partner of the failed social network of iTunes, Ping, but gave up on the idea of ​​the union at the last second and this strained relations between both companies, which is why Apple preferred to integrate iOS 5 with the Twitter and not with Facebook.
