O Facebook announced on Wednesday (13) the Instant Articles, a tool that allows communication vehicles to publish interactive articles directly on the social network. Basically, the user will no longer be redirected to the newspaper's website and will remain in the app.

According to Facebook, the news leads eight seconds, on average, to be loaded in the smartphone browser. This is the slowest type of content to view. With content hosted on their own servers, articles will open “instantly” as they will be preloaded as you browse the news feed.

One of the biggest balconies of the Instant Articles is Interactivity of the reports. It will be possible to view high resolution images, observe the details with the zoom and control the point of view by moving the smartphone. Texts can also display interactive maps, autoplay videos and audio commentary. the famous article Snow Fall by The New York Times certainly served as an inspiration for the creation of the novelty.

Users will see that news that is part of the Instant Article they have an animated cover, as if it were a GIF, drawing more attention when browsing the timeline.

For launch, the Facebook partnered with major outlets: The New York Times, National Geographic, BuzzFeed, NBC News, The Atlantic, The Guardian, BBC News, Spiegel Online and Bild.

At a time when journalism is experiencing difficulties, this seems to be an interesting way out, despite granting too much power for facebook (which has taken away the traffic of many vehicles). One way that the social network found to attract the big names was to ensure that the revenue obtained through Instant Articles be passed on to the content owners. If the vehicle itself manages the displayed ads, it will have 100% of the income, if the displayed advertising is generated by the Facebook, will receive 70% of the profits.

Initially, the articles can only be read in the application of the Facebook for iOS, but soon there will be an update in the version for Android. The video below demonstrates in detail how the novelty works:
