Flip5 and Fold5: Samsung launches new foldables in Korea

A Samsung officially launched during the Samsung Unpacked, Galaxy z flip5 and Galaxy z fold5. Both smartphones bring features of folding devices as we already know, but impress thanks to their design, performance and innovative features. With a number of enhancements over its predecessors, the flip5 and fold5 offer a complete experience for style and technology aficionados. O Galaxy z flip5 features significant improvements on your screen. The external screen of the device, which previously had 1,9 inches, has now been expanded to 3,4 inches. The internal screen continues with 6,7 inches, ultra-thin glass folding and with the 2X Dynamic AMOLED technology. In addition, it features a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz and support for videos in HDR10 +, providing a vivid and immersive viewing experience.

A Samsung invested in the elegant and sophisticated design of the Flip5, making it an even more refined and discreet device, ideal to be carried in your pocket or purse. With a focus on facilitating selfies and content production, the device will also be accompanied by stylish accessories that complement its look. Finally, the Z-Flip5 It will be available in four different colors: Black, Pink, Green and Ivory (White). This variety allows users to choose the style that best matches their preferences.

Performance

O Galaxy z flip5, with its many improvements and innovative features, promises to be one of the highlights in the foldable smartphone market. With the new processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy da Qualcomm and the operating system Android 13 with interface One UI 5.1.1 from Samsung, the device offers exceptional performance and an advanced and personalized user experience.

The release will be available in two internal storage versions: 256 GB and 512 GB, both accompanied by 8 GB of RAM. This robust setup offers plenty of room to store videos, photos and run apps smoothly.

Cameras

The device still allows the recording of videos in high resolution, with support for resolution of up to 4K at 30 or 60 FPS e HDR10 + on the rear cameras, and 4K to 30 FPS on the inner camera. Connectivity and battery

The device's battery has 3.700 mAh, which can be recharged quickly through the USB-C Type 2 port. 30 minutes, it is possible to reach 50% of the total charge. Ultra-thin bendable glass makes the screen even tougher, ensuring durability and an immersive viewing experience.

To make using tablet mode even more efficient, the app bar on the interface One UI 5.5.1 shows up to 8 pinned and 4 recently used apps, providing quick access to frequently used tasks and apps.

The Fold5's external screen, for use as a regular smartphone, has 6,2 inches and technology 2x Dynamic AMOLED, with support for HDR10 + and glass Corning Gorilla Glass Victor+. This versatile screen allows users to interact quickly and conveniently in all situations. Finally, the model will be available in three stylish colors: Black, Light Blue and Cream (White).

Just like the Flip5, the fold5 comes equipped with processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy da Qualcomm and the operating system Android 13 with interface One UI 5.1.1 from Samsung. The device will be available in three internal storage options: 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB, all accompanied by 12 GB of RAM. This robust setup offers plenty of room to store videos, photos and run apps with smooth performance.

Samsung targets two distinct audiences with the fold5: gamers and entrepreneurs. Catering to gaming enthusiasts, the device has an improved GPU and larger cooling chambers, allowing heavy games to run with optimized performance on the tablet's internal screen. As for the corporate market and multitaskers, the fold5 offers special integrations for popular apps such as Zoom, Citrix Web, Zoho and Google Meet. In addition, the possibility of showing up to 3 applications on the screen simultaneously optimizes productivity and multitasking.

Cameras

O Galaxy z fold5 features a versatile and powerful camera system. On the back of the device, we find a triple set of cameras, consisting of a 50M Wide lensP, 12 MP Ultra Wide and 10 MP Telephoto with 3x optical zoom. This setting allows you to capture high quality images in different situations. On the outer screen, there is a 10 MP selfie camera, ensuring sharp, quality photos for everyday smartphone use.

Even more notable, the fold5 has a technological innovation: a camera below the screen, also known as Under Display Camera, with 4 MP. This solution allows for a more immersive and seamless viewing experience as the camera is hidden under the screen, providing a cleaner, notch-free display.

Connectivity and battery

The launch of Samsung is equipped to meet the demands of modern connectivity. Support for 5G carrier networks, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 with low power consumption, bring you a fast and stable browsing experience. In addition, the device supports proximity payments with an NFC sensor and the use of digital keys with Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology, bringing convenience and security to your daily interactions.

In terms of battery, the device has a 4.400 mAh battery, which can be recharged quickly via the USB-C Type 2 port. only 30 minutes of charging, it is possible to reach 50% of the total load. Another interesting feature is the 15W wireless charging and the power sharing functionality, also known as “wireless power sharing”, allowing the fold5 charge additional devices like headphones and smartwatches right on its back.

S Pen Fold Edition

Samsung will still make available the S Pen Fold Edition, a smart pen specially designed for use on the folding screen of the Fold5. This addition allows for a more accurate and natural writing and drawing experience, expanding the possibilities of using the device.

Price and availability

In Brazil, the Galaxy z flip5 and Galaxy z fold5 begin to be sold as of today (pre-sale), July 26th, with prices from BRL 7.999, and delivery from 11 August.

Samsung has also prepared a special launch action for people who purchase the new Galaxy Z line smartphones from today, July 26, until August 27, 2023.

The action works as follows: whoever buys a 5 GB Galaxy Z Flip256 will receive an upgrade to the 5 GB Galaxy Z Flip512 model and the possibility of purchasing a Galaxy Watch6 with a 50% discount.

Anyone who buys a 5 GB Galaxy Z Fold512 will receive an upgrade to the 5TB GB Galaxy Z Fold1 model and the possibility of purchasing a Galaxy Watch6 at a 50% discount. Both promotions are valid from July 26th to August 27th, 2023.
