Fotolog is back! Check out how to use the service on smartphone and web

Before the Instagram, people could share their photos on the internet through a service well known at the time, the photoblog. Now, after being deactivated for some time, Fotolog is active again, this time entering the world of smartphones !

Less quantity, higher quality

Despite finding its main rival on Instagram, Fotolog comes back with a different proposal. According to the official website, the fact that the network only allows the posting of one photo per day encourages people to better appreciate the publication. At the same time, it avoids polluting the feed with several posts at the same time.

"We want to end the excess of publications that put pressure on the search for validation from others and, instead, we want to help you appreciate each moment that represents the best (or worst) of your day."

For those who already used Fotolog in the early 2000s, you can still recover your login and relive the good times on the service. Learn how to use the new platform both in smartphone as on the computer.

Fotolog on Smartphone

1 – First you need to install the Fotolog application on your smartphone. It can be found at Play Store all with Android. The app is currently not available for iOS.

2 – When installing, the Terms and Conditions will appear, click on “Understood”. Then login with the Facebook. Or, if you prefer, enter your old account credentials.

3 – When logging in, on the home screen, select the “Upload” option to post a photo. In "Select the file" choose the image you want to post. Just below there will be a space for the description. Write whatever you want on it and click “Post Photo”.

Using the Menu

Diary: In this option it is possible to see the feed with the photos that your friends have already shared on the network. Just like on Instagram, just click on the heart to like the photo, on the balloon to comment. There are also icons for Facebook and Twitter, where you can share your post on these networks.

In the options icon (three dots in the upper right corner) it will show the options to copy the photo link and send it in another way such as by Whatsapp, share on Facebook and Twitter, edit the caption or delete the post.

Explore: Here all recent publications of the app will be shown. It is possible to search for friends by typing the name in the search.

Activity: In this menu, comments, likes and friends who follow you on photoblog.

Me: This menu shows the account information like photo, name and posts. An interesting tip is that, if the user does not post a photo on one of the previous days, he can do so on another date. For example, you can post a photo from 01/06 to 06/06.

On the computer

1 – First you need to access the website of the photoblog. Then click on “Register” if you don't have an account yet. You can even log in with your account. Facebook also! If you already have an old account that you would like to revive, click on “Login”.

   

2 – To post the photo, just go to Upload, as well as in the application. Select a photo, write a description and click “Publish”.

3 – The use on the Web is very similar to the application, the menus have the same function and display the same thing, but on the computer screen.
