A Samsung chose the city of New York pto make their new foldable smartphones official in the traditional Galaxy Unpacked of the second semester. As expected, the Galaxy z fold7 has received the biggest changes, both in the camera and in the design. But the company has also prepared new features for those who prefer flip-style models, including a more affordable one. See all the details right now.
Android 16 with One UI 8
After start testing at the end of May this year and some Galaxy S25 until they have received the most stable version, the Samsung launched its three new foldable smartphones with Android 16 via interface One UI 8. This is the first time every year that foldables have debuted a new operating system. Previously, they launched with the same operating system as the Galaxy S launched that same year.
Released to the three devices announced at the event Samsung Today, the changes are more about visual optimization, as the company launched the One UI 7 with a new design earlier this year.
A great new feature is in the browser Samsung Internet, which received a redesign focused on better usability. Now, it looks more like the safari, browser iOS, but it has features that make it easier to access downloads. See the screenshots of those who had access to the One UI 8 beta:
All new foldables released today will be updated up to Android 23, following the upgrade policy for premium smartphones from Samsung seven years. The same goes for security updates.

Galaxy AI News
For One UI 8, Samsung is integrating its artificial intelligence into even more applications and promising that sections like Now Brief now be more useful, such as being able to help you know where you parked your car using only camera or location data. The company will send you a notification requesting access to this and Galaxy A.I. can be used to read the information and help you find the car.
Speaking of Now Brief, the company says it's even more integrated into the operating system. The biggest new feature is Listen Brief: This will allow you to hear this information, which can be very useful in various situations, such as when driving or exercising. You will also be able to pause playback and stop it completely.
The company will also be allowing you to use GPS and a camera to remember where you parked your car so you don't have to spend hours searching for it in the parking lot.
Another application that has undergone a “soft redesign” is Samsung Reminder, which now displays six blocks as a priority, instead of a list with several items. Now, it will be possible to see the categories Today, Scheduled, Important, Local, No Alerts and Completed. With this, only the “All” and “Trash” options that were found in the defunct left auxiliary menu are left out.
Speaking of the add reminders tab, the window for setting reminders has been redesigned, something that reminds us of the current Settings bar. OneUI 7, in addition to being able to create a reminder through voice commands, probably with natural language.
Speaking of QuickShare, it has been redesigned to include separate sending and receiving tabs, making the process clearer.
With Photo Assist, your photos look perfect. It uses artificial intelligence to move, erase or enlarge objects, adjust angles and fill backgrounds with precision.
You can also capture vibrant expressions, including those of your pets, with the Studio Portrait.
Your photos can be refined with the Generative Editing Galaxy's improved UI, which has become a fan favorite for its ability to remove distractions and seamlessly fill in backgrounds. Now, it's even smarter, offering proactive suggestions with the new Suggest Erases, which automatically detects unwanted people at the touch of a button.
To make your edits easier, the side-by-side editing and display of the original Allows you to compare original images and edited versions in real time on the big screen. This makes it much easier to decide what to edit and what to keep in your photos.
A Now Bar now integrates with the resource live activities do Android 16, which works as a “native Android dynamic island”. This will make it easier to integrate the functionality into third-party applications, such as Uber, iFood and more. Before that, the Now Bar had support for the Spotify and system applications One UI 7.
Galaxy z fold 7
Design
As rumors suggested, the Samsung did its best to deliver a lighter and thinner device than its predecessor, focusing on the long-term experience. In fact, you can see that the new foldable was heavily inspired by Galaxy Z Fold6 Special Edition.
Available in colors black, gray, blue and green, Galaxy z fold7 only have 8,6 mm thick, a 30% reduction compared to Galaxy z fold6. The green variant will be sold exclusively on Samsung's website. See the green variant below:
The new foldable smartphone from Samsung It's also lighter, now at 215 grams, a 24-gram reduction compared to last year's model. Samsung continues to use an aluminum frame for the model's body, making this the "thinnest and lightest Z Fold ever," according to the company. There's a fingerprint reader on both screens and also on the power button.
Although rumors suggested the Galaxy Z Fold7 would be the first foldable smartphone with IP68 certification, Samsung saved that for the next generation, as the IP48 certification, present in the 2024 model, was retained for the 2025 model. This means that in addition to dust resistance, it can be submerged in freshwater for up to 30 minutes at a depth of up to 1,5 meters. Samsung does not recommend using it in a pool or on the beach.
Screens (external and internal)
Screens were another factor that saw new developments for 2025, as leaks from recent weeks also indicated. Starting with the internal display, it now measures 8,0 inches, a 0,4-inch increase over last year's model.
The larger screen has a 2224 x 2488 resolution, which is closer to 3K, given the increase in size. However, the dynamic refresh rate of -1 to 120Hz and peak brightness of 2.600 nits remain the same. However, the user experience on the larger screen should be improved compared to last year's model, as Samsung confirms the arrival of technology ProScaller, which debuted earlier this year, with the launch of the new Galaxy S25.
In practice, the ProScaler optimizes image quality by transforming low-resolution content into higher, sharper resolution. It's as if it takes a low-detail image or video and fills it with more pixels and information to make it appear sharper and more realistic.
Speaking of the external display, this has also undergone changes, now measuring 6,5 inches, a generational gain of 0,4 inches. The refresh rate remains the same: 120Hz, with the same going for the peak brightness of 2.000 nits and HD+ resolution (968 x 2376).
Cameras
The innovations don't stop at the design: starting with the back, the foldable smartphone has gained a new 200 MP camera as its main sensor, in addition to a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and another 12 MP ultrawide. For comparison, the Galaxy z fold6 arrived in 2024 with a 50 MP main lens, and the same two other lenses present in this year's model.
With the rear cameras, you can record videos in 8K quality at up to 30 FPS or 4K at up to 60 FPS at normal speed. If you choose to record in slow motion, you can opt for 1080 (FHD) resolution at up to 240 FPS.
The smartphone also allows you to record videos in LOG, which allows you to capture more details of the scene, especially in highlights and shadows, resulting in a video with greater dynamic range. This means you'll have more flexibility in post-production to adjust colors and tones, creating more cinematic results.
On the screen, the 4 MP lens present since the Z Fold3 has finally received an upgrade, now becoming 10 MP and recording HD resolution video (1280×720) with up to 60 FPS.
Looking at the lens on the external display, there haven't been any changes: the same 10 MP wide lens remains, recording in 4K quality at up to 30 FPS. Features like recording with a blurred background and support for nightography are confirmed for the camera on the smaller screen.
Processor
As expected, the Samsung bet on the same processor as the Galaxy S line for its most powerful foldable smartphone. The processor Snapdragon 8 Elite For Galaxy It comes to run all features, in addition to having support for Ray Tracing in AAA games.
compared to Traditional Snapdragon 8 Elite present in smartphones from other brands, this customized version from Samsung delivers 41% of gain for the NPU, 38% for CPU e 26% for GPUThe other Galaxy Z Folds have already been praised for their good multitasking performance and considered great smartphones for all types of audiences, so this shouldn't be any different in the seventh generation.
Memory and storage
O Galaxy z fold 7 count with 256 GB storage in the standard version, with options of 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB available for an additional cost. You can choose between 12 GB or 16 GB RAM options.
With the support of the RAM Plus feature, which uses a portion of the internal storage to deliver more performance, it will be possible to have up to 24 GB of RAM to run even more applications at the same time.
Battery and charging
The battery of the new smartphone has not changed compared to last year's model and has the 4.400 mAh of capacity, including lithium-ion batteries. Despite the model's larger screen, the more efficient processor should be enough for better battery life, but that's a topic for the review.
A Samsung confirmed that it meets the wireless charging standard Qi2. However, it is “Qi2 Ready“, which means that the device will be compatible with the standard, but you will need a cover with integrated magnets to take advantage of the complete magnetic alignment of the Qi2.
When connected to a wired charger, it can be recharged with 25W of power, which Samsung claims will charge 50% in just 30 minutes. When charging wirelessly, the maximum supported power is 15W.
The device can also power other devices via Wireless PowerShare up to 4,5W. A 25W power supply will be included in the box for all buyers.
Accessories
Despite selling the item separately in previous generations, Samsung has ended support for the S Pen on the Galaxy Z Fold7, meaning that only the sixth generation will be able to use the accessory from the Galaxy S line. However, two cases have been released for the new foldable smartphone.
A Samsung developed a case with a stand so that the smartphone can be in portrait mode, as you can see below. This case is made of silicone, and matches the official color of the smartphone so you don't have to give up style.
Another cover is called Carbon Case It's designed to allow for better long-term use and features a raised surface that prevents the smartphone from slipping out of your hand during everyday use. See below:
Despite launching its new foldable smartphone with support for the wireless charging standard Qi2, official wireless charging accessories have not been released for the Galaxy z fold7We will update this article with any new developments as soon as they are released.

Galaxy z flip 7
Seven years since the first release, the Samsung finally released the full use of the operating system on its smartphone. With this, the company is closer to the models of Motorola, which have been allowing this for some years. Find out all the details.
Design
In addition to the black variant, the model will be released in coral red, dark blue and green. Just like the Galaxy z fold7, the green variant can only be purchased on the official website of Samsung, while the others will reach general retail on the device's launch date.
As rumors suggested, the Samsung is changing more the external screen than the overall look of its flip-style model. Thus, despite being wider than last year's model, the device has seen a slight reduction in thickness (0,4 mm), now measuring 6,5 mm when unfolded and 13,7 mm when folded.
The weight has also changed slightly: now 188 grams, compared to 187 grams. Z-Flip6. Although rumors suggested that he had a titanium body, Samsung continued with the aluminum of previous years. Its back is made of glass with protection Gorilla Glass Victus Ceramic to prevent cracks in case of falls.
Regarding the certification details, we have the same as last year: it comes with IP48K, which means it can withstand submersion in up to 1,5 meters of fresh water for 30 minutes and offers protection against dust and solid objects up to 1 millimeter thick. Two fingerprint readers, one on the power button and another on the larger screen, are available on the model.
Screens (external and internal)
It took a while, but it happened: Samsung finally opted for a full external screen on its flip-style foldable. This 4,1" HD display can be fully utilized by users, with only a cutout for the cameras on the screen. This represents a 0,7-inch gain compared to the Galaxy Z Flip6's display, which already delivered a very complete experience. we mentioned in the review.
The internal display is also bigger, reaching 6,85 inches with FHD+ resolution (1080×2640). The 2024 model had 6,7 inches, which was already great, so let's see if the good visual experience continues in the 2025 models. The refresh rate has not changed: 60Hz on the smaller screen and 120Hz on the larger screen.
The internal display could also be larger, reaching 6,85 inches, compared to 6,7 inches on the previous year's model. The refresh rate hasn't undergone significant changes and remains the same as last year: 60Hz on the smaller screen and 120Hz on the larger one.
A Samsung confirms that the same hinge as last year was used this year, but, as announced at the event, the crease in the screen, which was already barely noticeable last year, is now practically invisible in this 2025 model.
Software
A Samsung is improving widgets due to the larger screen and now, up to 4 shortcuts can be placed on the external screen, for an even more dynamic use. The company is taking advantage of the details of its Good Lock application to allow a complete customization of the operating system, where there are several themes that change the entire One UI 8 completely.
Furthermore, another new feature in terms of software is the possibility of using the device completely through the smaller screen, something already seen in Motorola Razr from previous years. The company emphasizes that all apps will work fully on the four-inch screen, but there will be greater support for Galaxy AI features, with the ability to view Now Brief summaries powered by artificial intelligence.
Using the cameras on the smaller screen, you can show what's around you to give Gemini Live "eyes" and even see a video preview so you can see what your smartphone is seeing.
Samsung says that this opens up a sea of possibilities: you can ask for style and decoration tips, receive recipe suggestions and even receive challenges for extreme activities in a sports environment.
Cameras
After receiving a 50 MP main camera, the Samsung kept the same camera set from last year for the 2025 model. This way, we have a 50 MP main lens wide type and a lens 12 MP ultrawide present on the external screen, which can record videos in 4K resolution at up to 60 FPS.
The front lens on the inside follows the same: a 10 MP wide camera that records in 4K resolution at up to 60 FPS. The Samsung highlights that it's improving Flex mode for video recording and now allows zoom control with the thumb, for better videos when used in webcam mode. Apparently, this feature is exclusive to the new generation, but we'll have to wait for more details.
Processor
For the first time in history, the Samsung put a proprietary processor in one of its foldable smartphones. Unveiled in June, the processor Exynos 2500 has three-nanometer architecture and significant advances compared to its predecessor Exynos 2400, present in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.
Furthermore, it presents notable performance gains compared to Exynos 2400, driven primarily by the 3-nanometer (3nm) GAA manufacturing process. In CPU, there is an expectation of up to 15% increase in multi-core performance.
Already in GPU, the new Xclipse 950 promises an improvement of up to 28% in frame rates in games that use ray tracing. Regarding the Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Exynos 2500's Neural Processing Unit (NPU) is significantly faster, with a breakthrough of up to 39% compared to that of the Exynos 2400.
Battery and charging
The battery is another factor that has undergone changes compared to last year, so we have a 4.300 mAh battery (gain of 300 mAh), which Samsung claims to have autonomy to keep the device on for up to 40 hours and 28 minutes. Of course, this can vary a lot, but the processors Exynos They usually offer good energy efficiency, so let's wait for the reviews.
Charging is another factor that has not undergone any changes: with wired charging, it will be possible to recharge the model at up to 25W wired or 15W wirelessly. It also supports fast charging and 50% of the battery will be recharged in just 30 minutes.
The model can also send power to other devices via Wireless PowerShare at a load of up to 4,5W.
Memory and storage
O Galaxy z flip7 It will be released in versions with 256 GB and 512 GB of internal storage, without support for memory cards. Regarding RAM, all variants will continue with the same 12 GB of RAM as last year.
The RAM Plus feature takes advantage of up to 8 GB of internal storage to deliver more performance, so the model should not experience crashes even when multitasking.
Accessories
Two special cases have been developed for Samsung's new flip-style foldable smartphone. The Flip SuitCase features unique styles and syncs animations to the back via NFC, so you can have the same wallpaper as the case.
The silicone Ring Case has a ring that prevents the device from falling out of your hands, allowing you to place your finger inside and not drop the smartphone at any time. Both accessories do not yet have a price in reais disclosed.
Price and availability
The Galaxy Z Flip7 has been confirmed for launch in Brazil, but Samsung hasn't announced a specific date as of press time. In the US, pre-orders begin today, July 09th, with the device scheduled for general release on July 25th. The price in the US is $1.199, or approximately R$6.002 in direct conversion.

Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
And, to compete in the market with the most affordable option in the Motorola, Samsung is investing in another, more affordable Flip-type smartphone that takes advantage of the design and features of the Galaxy z flip6, but with a processor from the company itself. Let's get into the details.
Design
Starting with the colors, the model will be released in black and white variants, without straying from the standard, successful look. Samsung intends to test this market before knowing if more colors would be chosen by the general market, so there is even the possibility of the model being launched in more colors over the next few months.
In terms of design, nothing has changed compared to the Galaxy z flip6 from last year: it weighs 187 grams, is 14,9 mm thick when folded and 6,9 mm when unfolded.
The model will also continue to have the IPX4 protection, which guarantees operation in some cases of contact with liquid, but does not yet make it a waterproof device, as IP68 certification would be required. Apparently, that will be left for the next generation.
Screens (external and internal)
The external screen remains the same 3,4″ that we saw in the last generation, in addition to having a resolution of 720×748 and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The highlight is the better use of the external screen via AI, which is now called FlexWindowThe highlight at the edge of the screen makes the screen smaller, but the user experience will not be affected by this detail.
Around the same time, Samsung kept the experience of using apps on the smaller screen only for the more expensive model, so the simpler experience on the external screen of the Galaxy z flip6 will also be visible here. But you can still use the screen to use shortcuts and launch quick actions, such as playing music, checking weather data, and even starting a voice recording.
And we also have the same 6,7-inch internal screen, a 2X Dynamic AMOLED panel. Peak brightness remains the same at 2.600 nits, and on this large screen, there is a variable refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz depending on the activity being performed.
The company also invested in making its screen more resistant and promised that its internal screen is 5 times more resistant than the Z-Flip5The fold crease goes unnoticed once you get used to having a foldable smartphone.
Cameras
The same set of lenses as Galaxy z flip7 (which is the one on the Z Flip6) is present here. So, we have the same 50MP main wide lens, a 12MP ultrawide lens for taking wider photos. On the larger screen, there's the same 10MP lens as the other model introduced today.
O Galaxy Z Flip7 FE It can also record videos in 4K resolution at up to 60 FPS, in addition to having support for Flex mode, which allows use in the webcam model and also records with a blurred background.
Processor
For this model, the chipset Exynos 2400 was chosen by Samsung. This is the same processor as the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ launched in Brazil, while the Galaxy S24 FE features the Exynos 2400e.
The processor Exynos 2400 represents a notable advance over its predecessor, the Exynos 2200. The main improvement is in the CPU, which offers 1,7 times better performance. The Xclipse 940 GPUs, based on the AMD RDNA 3 architecture, guarantees twice the graphics performance, ideal for games and more demanding visual applications.
Furthermore, the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) have made an impressive leap forward, becoming 14,7 times faster. These optimizations, combined with an improved 4nm manufacturing process, result in a more efficient and powerful chip for the next generation of devices.
Battery and charging
The model's battery has undergone a slight reduction compared to the traditional Z Flip7 and, as a result, it has 4.000 mAh, also the same as the Galaxy z flip6 last year. Charging remains the same: up to 25W wired, 15W wireless, and 4,5W reverse charging via Wireless Powershare.
Memory and storage
The model hits the general market with two internal storage options: 256 GB and 512 GB, both with 8 GB of RAM. The RAM Plus feature, with up to 8 GB, is also available here.
Price and availability
Closing ads on smartphones, the new Galaxy Z Flip7 FE The Samsung Galaxy S09 Ultra has also been confirmed for release in Brazil, but it hasn't yet been confirmed by Samsung. In the US, the launch schedule is the same as the other two models: pre-orders begin on July 25th and the general market launches on July 899th. The suggested starting price is US$4.905, which translates to around R$XNUMX in direct conversion.
