August is here and if you follow technology news, you know that this is the month of Galaxy Unpacked, event that the Samsung organizes to launch its new foldable smartphones, smartwatches and more. This year, the new Galaxy z flip7 e Galaxy z fold7 They arrive with some apparent visual changes, but they are also expected to be even lighter than their predecessors. Check out what is already known about the big event.
Galaxy z fold 7
Design

The biggest change regarding the design of the Galaxy z fold6 when we quote the specifications of the Galaxy z fold7 is that it must be very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, released three months after the company's last foldable Samsung. That said, this model, launched exclusively in South Korea, should be the basis for the new fold7.

It is speculated that, when folded, the device will be just 8,6 mm thick, 30% thinner than last year's model. Other rumors also suggest that this thickness could be even thinner, reaching just 8,2 mm. Such a feat, if confirmed, would put the Galaxy z fold7 as the world's thinnest smartphone in unfolded mode, as it would reach 4,1 mm and surpass the Oppo Find N5 by 0,7 mm.

Such a thin thickness has an explanation: Samsung may be investing in the use of titanium structure in its new more robust foldable, something also seen in Galaxy Edge S25 e Galaxy s25 ultra. This also allows the model to have more curved edges, facilitating prolonged use during the day, especially when the Galaxy z fold7 is unfolded. The colors should come in black, gray, blue and white.

Also, by having a titanium frame instead of aluminum, this would make the model an extremely light device. The weight would be 215 grams, a reduction of 24 grams compared to last year's model.
Regarding the certification, the protection should be the IPX4 seen last year. Initial rumors about the product even stated that the device would have IP68 certification, which would make it the first foldable smartphone in the world to be waterproof, but Samsung have not yet taken this step.
On the other hand, it seems that the debut of this feature in the foldable smartphone industry will be due to Google with the launch of Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. If possible, the step will be important for the entire industry and the company usually launches smartphones in August.
Screens (external and internal)

Still on the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, rumors say that it will also be the reference for the screens: the largest screen in the Galaxy z fold7 should measure 8,6 inches. For comparison, the 2024 model's external display, when unfolded, measures 7,6 inches.
A Samsung must take advantage of its technology ProScaler, debutant in the Galaxy S25 (S25+, S25 Ultra and S25 Edge) so that the brightness adaptation in everyday life is the best possible. In practice, the ProScaler optimizes image quality by transforming low-resolution content into higher, sharper resolution. It's as if it takes a low-detail image or video and fills it with more pixels and information to make it appear sharper and more realistic.
Rumors also cite that the crease in the screen will now be even less apparent in the seventh generation of the Galaxy z fold, but it is not yet clear how this will work. It is worth remembering that there is a chance that the crease will not be seen, but this is something that we will only confirm with the model in hand.
Moving on to the smaller screen, this is another spec that can be inherited from the Z Fold Special Edition: It is expected to measure six inches. If this is confirmed, there will be no change in relation to the Galaxy z fold6 and, in fact, all screens can have a 120Hz refresh rate, Dynamic 2x AMOLED technology and peak brightness of up to 2.900 nits.
Processor
No surprises in this regard, the processor chosen to run all the features must be the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, the same gift across the board Galaxy S25. This change, according to the Samsung, delivery 40% of gain for the NPU, 37% for CPU e 30% for GPU compared to processors found in devices from other brands.
O Galaxy z fold 7 probably will have 256 GB storage in the standard version, with options of 512 GB and 1 TB available for an additional cost. RAM should be 16 GB, a 4 GB upgrade over last year's model, which, by the way, already delivered a good multitasking experience.
System and interface

This one must be the big step of Samsung with the launch of its foldable smartphones. Stronger rumors indicate that the new devices should leave the factory with the Android 16 pre-installed, via One UI 8. Until last year, all smartphones followed the rule of having the same operating system as the models in the line. Galaxy S, but that may have changed.
The system now features improvements in organization and accessibility and application drawer displays a smaller pop-up with installed apps, optimizing viewing. search bar has been redesigned with a card-based interface, making it easier to search for files, apps, and settings.

Furthermore, the dex mode It will also allow the window size to be changed to allow everything to be seen in full screen, delivering an experience even closer to what we see in models like the Mac, Linux e Windows.

Additionally, it offers direct shortcuts to the Downloads folder (via Samsung Files) and to the Screenshots folder (via Samsung Gallery). Check them out below:

Finally, the Quick Settings Panel is now conveniently located in the bottom right corner of the screen.

In addition, another new feature is in the browser Samsung Internet, which received a redesign focused on better usability. Now, it looks more like the safari, iOS browser, but it has features that make it easier to access downloads. See the screenshots:

Another novelty is in QuickShare, which makes it easy to share files between computers and other smartphones Android. The new interface can be seen below:

And Now Brief, which was pointed out as a feature with little use by some users, will now have more uses and should become a great AI-powered personal assistant. The idea is that, in addition to providing quick information about your day, you can set reminders to drink water and even take medicine.

The same Now Brief It can also be used to remember where you parked your car, using both the location and the camera to remind you. After giving access to this, simply use the personal assistant to receive information. Check out the notification sent to those who already have access to the beta:

And finally, the Galaxy A.I. you can send reminders and create personalized invitations. The idea here is to use the features already present in Samsung Calendar e Google Calendar, but have the support of Galaxy A.I. to create quick invitations that can be sent to whoever you want. Like this:

Following the new policy of Samsung in updates, the model must be updated for up to seven years, going up to the Android 23. And it is worth remembering that the new Galaxy AI features, including the new features released with the new Galaxy S25, should also be available, including greater integration with applications.
Cameras

When we start the topic of the new Galaxy z fold7 citing that the model was quite similar to the edition released in October, this also applies to the cameras. Regarding the rear cameras, the triple game is expected to be formed by a 200 MP main lens, accompanied by a 12 MP ultrawide lens and a 10 MP telephoto with support for up to 3x optical zoom.
Regarding the screen present in the larger part, it is not yet known whether there will be a change in relation to the 4 MP lens present since the Galaxy z fold3 And here's our vote of hope that this will happen. The lens on the external screen should also remain, being the same 10 MP that even managed to take good photos, but still had some problems in low-light situations. Let's hope that software optimizations solve this if a hardware upgrade doesn't happen.
Battery and charging
About the battery… well, this is another factor that shouldn’t change even with a new release: rumors suggest that it should remain the same 4.400 mAh, the same as last year, also made of lithium. Despite the larger screen on the model, the more efficient processor should be enough for better battery life on a daily basis, but that's a topic for the review.
The main rumor about the Galaxy z fold 7 is that it will be the first foldable Samsung to support the Qi2. However, it should come as “Qi2 Ready“, which means that the device will be compatible with the standard, but you will need a cover with integrated magnets to take advantage of the complete magnetic alignment of the Qi2. Wireless charging is expected to continue at 15W.
Price and availability

With so many upgrades, it's certain that a price increase will also come. If Samsung's new foldable smartphone has an international price of US$ 1.899, in its base version, with 256 GB of internal storage and 16 GB of RAM, in direct conversion, the value would be R$ 10.350, but it's almost certain that, here, the device will have a price of around R$ 15.
O Galaxy z fold6 began to be sold in Brazil from 13.799 BRL, in gray and blue colors, with a black variant available for purchase on the official website Samsung. The new model should have its pre-sale starting on the same day of announcement and will probably reach general retail in about two weeks.
Galaxy z flip 7
Design
After getting a 50MP main camera, it's hard to think how the Samsung It could still improve its foldable in the flip style. Early rumors cite that, instead of a more apparent visual change, the changes in the screen will be the biggest.
Similar to what we saw in other premium smartphones launched by Samsung this year, the new Galaxy z flip7 should have a new titanium casing and, despite being wider in relation to the Galaxy z flip6, it should have the same thickness of 6,9 millimeters when unfolded and 14,9 millimeters when folded.
The external look should remain the same as we have seen in recent years: a flip model with more prominent cameras on the external screen and vibrant colors. The 2025 version should have variants in blue, green, maybe silver and white. A coral red variant has also been spotted by tech analysts.
Screens (external and internal)
A big change in the model is in its screens: starting with the external screen, the new version of the Samsung now it should be closer to what we see in Motorola Razr, with the entire external screen completely utilized. This means the screen is now 4 inches, a gain of 0,4 inches compared to the Galaxy z flip6.
The internal screen could also be larger, reaching 6,85 inches. The 2024 model had 6,7 inches, which was already great, so let's see if the good visual experience continues in the 2025 models. The refresh rate shouldn't undergo any significant changes: 60Hz on the smaller screen and 120Hz on the larger screen.
It is not yet known whether the Samsung would allow full access to the operating system on the external screen, something that Motorola already does. The Korean company seems to be waiting for the right moment to do this and thus avoid incompatibility errors. Let's wait and see.
Processor
The latest information and benchmark leaks indicate that the Exynos 2500 will be the processor of the Galaxy z flip 7 in many markets, including South Korea and India. This would be the first foldable Samsung using a chip Exynos. It is not yet known whether this processor would be present in the normal model or in a possible Galaxy Z Flip7 FE.
O Exynos 2500 is expected to feature a 10-core CPU configuration and a Samsung Xclipse 950 GPU based on AMD's RDNA 3.5 architecture, plus an NPU for AI tasks. Preliminary tests on the Geekbench revealed scores of 2012 in single-core and 7563 in multi-core.
Apparently, the Samsung may be planning a split chip strategy, something that is already common in its other smartphone lines. The company has a history of using different processors in its devices, depending on the region, and this strategy in Z flip 7 may have some objectives:
- Bargaining power: Having an internal alternative strengthens the position of Samsung in future negotiations with the Qualcomm;
- Test and validate your own chips: The adoption of the Exynos 2500 in a folding it would be a form of Samsung demonstrate its ability to develop and manufacture high-performance chipsets for this category;
- Cost reduction: Producing chips in-house can lower manufacturing costs and increase profit margins.
However, there is also strong evidence that the Snapdragon 8 Elite will be the processor for the Galaxy z flip 7 in other regions such as the United States and possibly China and Japan. This decision may be related to performance optimization and thermal management, as the Snapdragon 8 Elite has been pointed out as superior to Exynos 2500 in some benchmarks. It is not yet known which processor will be chosen for launch in Brazil.
System and interface
There are strong indications that the device will be launched directly with the Android 16 pre-installed, running under the customized interface of Samsung, One UI 8. This ensures that the device already comes with the latest features and optimizations of the operating system. Google since the first day.
A One UI 8, in turn, will complement the Android 16 with optimizations for foldable displays, improvements to multitasking and enhanced functionality for mode Flex. Advances in Galaxy A.I. will also be even more integrated, offering smart features for everyday life. The external screen, possibly larger, will also receive new features and widgets, making it even more useful.
Cameras
For the cameras of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, expectations and rumors do not point to major revolutions in terms of hardware, but rather to the maintenance of an already known configuration, with possible improvements in image processing and AI capabilities. Most leaks and analyses suggest that the Galaxy z flip 7 will maintain the same set of cameras as its predecessor, the Galaxy z flip 6:
- Main Camera: 50MP;
- Ultra-wide camera: 12MP;
- Front Camera (Selfie): 10MP.
While the megapixel numbers may remain the same, that doesn't necessarily mean there won't be improvements. The Samsung can focus on optimizations that directly impact the quality of photos. Video recording would also be the same: up to 4K at 60 FPS.
Battery and charging
Recent rumors and certifications indicate that the Galaxy z flip 7 will have a larger capacity battery compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy z flip 6, which has 4.000 mAh. The most consistent information suggests that the new model could reach 4.300 mAh or even 4.400 mAh.
An increase from 300 to 400 mAh may seem modest compared to traditional smartphones, but for the lineup Flip. Combined with the most efficient processors (Exynos 2500 ou Snapdragon 8 Elite), which tend to better manage power consumption, and software optimizations of the Android 16 e One UI 8, this larger battery capacity should translate into noticeably better autonomy, allowing users to enjoy the device for longer without worrying about recharging.
Price and availability

With a larger screen, a new processor and the exclusivity of Android 16 for a few months, the Samsung should put the price at a considerable value for the Galaxy z flip7. International rumors indicate that the 256 GB version of internal storage will be sold for US$ 1.099, something around R$ 5.990 in direct conversion.
O Galaxy z flip6 It began to be sold in Brazil with an initial suggested price of R$7.999, so we can only wait to find out whether this price will be maintained or even reduced, since the possible suggested price should not change in the international market.
Galaxy Z Flip7 FE
It took a while, but the moment is finally coming: Samsung will launch a more affordable model of its flip-style foldable smartphone. The model should be very similar to the Galaxy z flip6, but with a processor manufactured by the company itself. Samsung. See what is already known.
Design
In relation to Galaxy z flip6, the big difference between this “cheaper” model is precisely its processor. This is because, in addition to being released in only two colors (black and white), it will have the same weight of 185 grams, thickness of 14,9 mm when folded and 6,9 mm when unfolded. No change in relation to the Flip of 2024.
The model will also continue to have IPX4 protection, which guarantees operation in some cases of contact with liquid, but it still does not make it a waterproof device, as IP68 certification would be required. Apparently, this will be left for the next generation.
Screens (external and internal)
As for the screens, there should be no changes in relation to the Galaxy z flip6: the screen could still have a border below the cameras, which would allow viewing of the system and other items on a 3,4-inch external screen, the same seen on the Motorola Razr 60 launched in April this year. The refresh rate also remains the same on the smaller screen: 60Hz, with the same going for the resolution, being FHD+.
Looking at the internal screen, we also have no changes: it continues to measure 6,7 inches and presents a good performance, thanks to the 2X Dynamic AMOLED panel, still featuring a peak screen brightness of 2.600 nits and a higher refresh rate of 120Hz.
Processor

The processor will be the main change between the model launched this year, in addition to the screen. Stronger rumors mention that the Samsung chose the Exynos 2400epresent in Galaxy S24FE, launched last year. To complement the good performance, the model should be launched with variants with 256 GB and 512 GB, but both should have 12 GB of RAM.
Despite being considered a 2024 processor, this chip has the capacity to manage multitasking applications without problems, combined with low power consumption, also having support for Galaxy A.I. in full. The bet will be interesting.
System and interface
Because of its processor, the new features of One UI 8 should debut in Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, based on Android 16. Because of this, all new features of Now Brief, better DeX mode and more, should arrive on the device.
The seven-year update policy for premium smartphones is expected to be maintained here, with the model being updated until the Android 23. The same goes for security updates. It is not yet known whether the Samsung will launch the device along with the Android 16 (keeping this for the more expensive models), but the good news is that we'll know this in less than a week.
Cameras

A Samsung The company also shouldn't change the cameras, and it's almost certain that the foldable device will be launched with a 50 MP main camera and a 12 MP ultrawide camera. On the larger screen, the same 10 MP lens as the Galaxy z flip6 must be present. The same goes for video recording: 4K at up to 60 FPS.
A Galaxy A.I. It's improved a lot in about a year, and it'll be interesting to see camera features like filter creation and audio correction on a more affordable foldable smartphone model.
Battery and charging
Another point that should not change is the battery: the two cells, which together form 4.400 mAh, should be reused in this model. Maximum wired charging will be 25W, 15W wirelessly and 4,5W reversely (via Wireless PowerShare).
A Samsung should still ship a power supply in the box of the Brazilian variants, but a 15W power supply should be found here, especially since this is a model focused on low price. If you want to have access to better charging, buyers of the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE will need to buy the most powerful source externally.
Price and availability
With a self-manufactured processor and 2024 design, the Samsung must invest in low prices to win more customers for the foldable smartphone category. International rumors say that the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE will be sold in China for 1 million won, something around 4.152 BRL in direct conversion.
Keeping an eye on its main competitor, the Moto Razr 60 was launched in Brazil with a suggested starting price of R$5.999. If the Samsung invest in low price and still be able to deliver a better experience, the fight will be interesting. What do you think? Tell us in the comments Comment!
Galaxy G Fold
The trifold smartphone market is still in its infancy, but the Samsung should also take advantage of its big event in July to showcase the Galaxy G Fold. With a ten-inch OLED screen, it can also be used in traditional smartphone format when both screens are folded.
Firmware files of the One UI 8 obtained by Android Authority They show photos and videos of how to use the model, talking about the payment part and even how to fold it. This is because, if confirmed, it will have a screen that will be folded inwards, in the shape of a G.
Information from the Korean newspaper The Bell mention that the company wants to do a big market test and also prove that it can make a trifold smartphone, just like HUAWEI also did with the launch of the Mate XT Ultimate Design, which in Brazil costs R$ 32.999. The development of Galaxy G Fold may have started in 2021, since in January 2022, during his time at CES 2022, aa Samsung showed a prototype through its subdivision Samsung Display. Look:
The initial plans of the Samsung are to announce the Galaxy G Fold this month, measure market acceptance and begin production in September, with a launch scheduled for the last quarter of the year. The triple-screen smartphone, which actually has one large screen that unfolds twice, would have the camera set of the Galaxy z fold7 and processor Snapdragon 8 Elite to run all features.
Prices for a possible device like this have not yet been defined by the Korean company, but information posted on the website The Bell is that the Samsung you can bet on a battery with a smaller capacity than the one seen in HUAWEI Mate XT Ultimate Design, which has 5.600 mAh.
Headphones
Galaxy Buds3 FE
In July last year, we had the launch of two Galaxy Buds3, which, including, the showmetech tested and approved. In the headphone market, the Samsung prepares a new model in this line: the Galaxy Buds3 FE. The idea of this model is that it sits between the Galaxy buds 3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro, like a “middle brother”.
Little is known about the device, but the idea is that it will have active noise cancellation (ANC), ambient mode and also 360º sound to deliver an immersive experience. The sound, however, should have a lower quality compared to the Galaxy Buds3 Pro, just as the model should not have support for AI features, which would help lower costs.
About the battery, it is expected that the Galaxy Buds3 FE should deliver a maximum battery life of up to 30h when ANC is disabled and up to 21h with ANC enabled. Charging should be done via USB-C connection and its possible launch price has not yet been leaked. For comparison, the Galaxy Buds3 traditional began to be sold in Brazil with a suggested price of R$ 1.699.
Galaxy Buds Core

Another novelty that should appear in the Samsung event is Galaxy Buds Core, which is actually not that new. The entry-level device was announced back in July and all its details are already available on the internet. The idea of Samsung Here we offer another affordable option for those who don't want to bet on the brand's more expensive options.
O Galaxy Buds Core will be released in White and Black and have the shape of a “bean”, reminiscent of the old ones Galaxy Buds2. With support for active (and passive, via silicone) noise cancellation, the Samsung confirms on the Colombia page that it provides a comfortable fit in the ear due to its shape, in line with good connectivity.

The model also has a touch area that allows media control and activation of the Google Gemini, in addition to three microphones (two external and one internal). It also has a translation feature via Samsung Interpreter, which allows two people who speak different languages to do so seamlessly.
The battery life is the most interesting: the manufacturer emphasizes that it can stay active for up to 35 hours with the support of the carrying case. With noise cancellation (ANC) activated, they offer up to 20 hours of playback with a full charge.

And there is also an “official” price: Galaxy Buds Core was listed on the Samsung Colombia website for US$ 219,900, something around R$ 1.193.177 in direct conversion. Despite being listed with a possible price above the R$ 1 thousand mark, the Samsung must use the device in special launch combos. Let's wait for more details in Galaxy Unpacked next week.
Smart Watches
By default, the Samsung will take advantage of its big event to present three new smartwatches. The first two promise to be the Galaxy Watch8 e Watch8 Classic. The models should be very similar, starting with their design, since the box resembles the shape of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2024. In fact, this should be the design that the company will use in its new smartwatches from now on.
The processor Exynos W1000 will be used in all new smartwatches from Samsung, as well as they will also have 64 GB of internal storage and 2 GB of RAM (double that of the last generation) to run all applications. The company confirms that it delivers 2,7x greater performance than its predecessor.
Connectivity is complemented by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, NFC, 4G and e-SIMm, allowing you to make calls, make payments with the Samsung Pay and internet browsing. The integrated microphone and speaker, in addition to gesture controls, will make use more dynamic.
About this, the Samsung will debut the One UI Watch 8 via WearOS 6 on their new watches, which, in addition to gaining new Watch Faces, already leaked on the internet, will also see the debut of the Now Bar (yes, the one on smartphones) for viewing quick information and controlling media.
New features for better workouts are also coming, such as comprehensive health monitoring, measuring heart rate, SpO2, blood pressure, temperature and performing certified ECG. It introduces innovative metrics, such as vascular load and antioxidant index, to assess cardiovascular health and oxidative stress.
Additionally, a running coach that provides real-time pace guidance and sleep apnea detection functionality are among the new features.
Galaxy Watch8
About Galaxy Watch8, it will launch with 40 and 44mm cases, a 1,44″ screen and a peak brightness of 2.600 nits. The model is also expected to launch in three colors and with two physical navigation buttons.
As for the battery, it should remain the same as we saw last year in the model: 300 mAh for the smaller 40mm version and 435 mAh for the 44mm variant (a gain of 10 mAh over last year's model). It is not yet known whether this will be enough to deliver a long battery life (probably not) compared to competitors like the HUAWEI, but we'll see what Samsung promises at its big event.
Galaxy Watch8 Classic
O Galaxy Watch8 Classic marks the return of this variant since 2023 and, with it, the rotating crown, a favorite item of some users, also returns. It is equipped with a better battery, now 450 mAh, which promises to last for up to 40 hours before needing to be recharged again.
It is also worth mentioning the IP68 certification for water resistance for diving up to 50 meters and MIL-STD-810H certification for drops. The device should also be immune to dust particles, so it can be used on the beach. A white version has made its way onto the internet and is striking for its elegance. Check it out:

The model should have a 46mm case with a 1,5-inch screen with a 60Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 2.000 nits, accompanied by three physical buttons. The model was listed on Ebay in mid-July, allowing us to see the look first-hand, as you can see below in these photos:
Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 (2025)
Finishing the details, we have a new generation of Galaxy Watch Ultra on the way. It should have a 46mm case with a 1,5-inch screen (60Hz refresh rate and 3.000 nits peak brightness), nothing much different from what we saw last year. Regarding the design, the orange button, which can be used for various functions, remains on the model.
As for durability, rumors suggest it will come with a robust and distinctive titanium case, but with a circular sapphire display with a slightly raised bezel at the top. The rotating crown will be on the back only. Galaxy Watch8 Classic, as the frame of the new model cannot be used for navigation (as in the previous generation).
Battery details are still scarce, but the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 will have the largest capacity among the three launches, reaching 590 mAh. When we tested the first model in 2024, it delivered a maximum duration of up to 43h with this same capacity. We will see if the new processor Exynos W1000, which promises to be more efficient, will increase this duration.
Details such as new health and fitness monitoring features confirmed for other smartwatches are confirmed for the model, with the Samsung delivering the most complete experience possible. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that the Gemini personal assistant would be integrated into the brand's smartwatches, so it will be interesting to see how this will sound in practice.
Prices for each of the new smartwatches are expected to be as follows:
| Córdoba | Price |
| Galaxy Watch8 | 40mm: US$349 (R$1.902 in direct conversion) 44mm: US$ 379 (R$ 2.065 in direct conversion) |
| Galaxy Watch8 Classic | $ 499 ($ 2.719 in direct conversion) |
| Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 | $ 649,00 ($ 3.53 in direct conversion) |
