Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra launch with Galaxy AI support

Today (10/6) Samsung held the second edition of the year of the traditional event for the announcement of new devices, the Galaxy Unpacked. In addition to new smartphones, headphones and a smart ring, we also saw the arrival of two new smart watches: the Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch7. The devices support the artificial intelligence platform Galaxy AI, a new processor and also a new sensor BioActive of second generation.
Galaxy Unpacked 2024
Samsung chose the Louvre Museum, in Paris, as the location for the event Galaxy Unpacked, where the company revealed its main products. New features include the sixth generation of foldable smartphones Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip, two new models of smart watches in the line Galaxy Watch, the headphones Galaxy Buds and, for the first time, a smart ring called Galaxy Ring, a new product on the market.

Galaxy A.I.
Using Galaxy A.I. — present in both new models — the watches are capable of performing a series of specific functions in an intelligent way. The tool can even identify moments of data loss, predicting the correct information.

Performance
Both models, Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch7, are equipped with the Exynos W1000 processor 3nm with 5 cores, an upgrade compared to the 2 cores of previous versions.
This new processor provides performance three times higher and 40% more efficient in terms of battery consumption compared to its predecessors. With 2 GB of RAM e 32 GB Internal Storage, these smart watches offer enough capacity to run apps, store music and data, and provide a fluid wearing experience.
Health and exercise
Here we highlight the new sensor BioActive 2, a more accurate feature, which went from 4 to 13 measurement LEDs. O Dual frequency GPS it is 20% more accurate, using the L5 band, which can even go beyond concrete, allowing it to work indoors.
The resource Body Energy Score analyzes the day's measurements based on seven indicators: sleep time, sleep consistency, sleep and wake time consistency, bedtime, previous day's activity, sleep heart rate, and sleep heart rate variability.
A sleep apnea detection (a respiratory problem) is now available. The app shows what happened throughout the night and how many times the user had pauses in breathing during sleep. This function is a 100% Brazilian development, and although it is not available at the time of launch, Samsung is already working to obtain its approval for use in Brazil.
WearOS
Another common point among new smart watches is the operating system WearOS 5, presenting the new One UI Watch 6 from Samsung, which recently entered beta on the Galaxy Watch 6, 5 and 4. Based on Android 14, both watches are the first wearables to feature the new operating system. Along with the One UI beta, these watches offer a new pinch gesture, faster horizontal scrolling, and improved health monitoring across the board.
Galaxy Watch7
Design and canvas
O Galaxy Watch7 It adopts a more versatile design, offering two size options to better adapt to users' preferences. The version of 40 mm has dimensions of 40,4 x 40,4 x 9,7 mm and weighs 28,9 g, while the 44 mm it measures 44,4 x 44,4 x 9,7 mm and weighs 33,8 g.
The frame is made of aluminum, light and resistant, and the front is protected by sapphire crystal. The rear, like the Ultra, is made of 3D glass, maintaining the elegance and modernity of the design. As to bracelets of Watch7, they follow the same standard as watch6. You can even use old bracelets.
The screens of Galaxy Watch7 vary depending on the size of the model. The 40mm version has a display 1,3 inch Super AMOLED, with a resolution of 432 x 432 pixels and a density of 330 ppi.
The 44 mm version has a display 1,5 inch Super AMOLED, the same as the Galaxy Watch Ultra, with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels and a density of 327 ppi. Both options offer high brightness and contrast, adapting well to different lighting conditions.
Battery
The two Galaxy Watch7 models have different amounts of battery. The version of 40 mm is equipped with a 300 mAh battery, while the version of 44 mm has a 425 mAh battery. Both sizes are optimized to offer good autonomy, supporting regular use on a single charge.
The energy efficiency of the processor Exynos W1000 it also helps maximize battery life, allowing users to wear the watch for extended periods without the need for frequent recharging.
Price and availability
O Galaxy Watch7 is available for sale from today, 10 July, with delivery scheduled to begin on August 8th. Anyone who purchases a Galaxy Watch7 between July 10th and August 22nd, 2024 will receive a Bracelet Fabric. On the Samsung website it is also possible to check the special conditions for users who want to offer the old entry-level Galaxy Watch on any model of the watch7.

Galaxy Watch Ultra
Design and canvas
The design of the Galaxy Watch Ultra, a premium model, reflects a more robust and sophisticated approach. With a single version of 47 mm, its dimensions are 47,4 x 47,1 x 12,1 mm and weight 60,5 g. The bezel is made from aerospace grade titanium, providing durability (it's seawater resistant up to 100 meters deep), while the front is protected by sapphire crystal.
The 3D glass back completes the watch's elegant and modern design. The Galaxy Watch Ultra's screen is a display 1,5 inch Super AMOLED, with a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels and a density of 327 ppi — the same values seen on the 7 mm Watch44.
Another highlight in the design goes to the quick button which allows you to switch activities with just one click. This button can also be used to trigger an emergency siren, audible up to 180 meters away. If you hold the button for 5 seconds, the siren sounds, alerting anyone nearby. You can also change the button function to take advantage of any other feature.
Battery
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is equipped with a battery 590 mAh, designed to offer excellent autonomy, allowing continuous use throughout the day with just one charge. Combined with the Exynos W1000 processor (which is 40% more energy efficient), this battery provides extended life between recharges. The model is also Samsung's first watch with the new WearOS 5 operating system.
This is ideal for users who depend on their watch for various functions throughout the day. At the economy mode, the battery can last up to 100 hours, and in economical sport mode, up to 48 hours.
