Free PS5 upgrades are a new feature thanks to backwards compatibility — functionality of a next-gen console to run past-gen games — which has been embraced both by Microsoft as by Sony with the new Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5. The new consoles are capable of running, in compatibility mode, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One e PS4, respectively. However, along with backward compatibility, the new generation brought another novelty: being able to play improved versions of games from previous consoles!
While in Xbox Series S / X there is a feature called “Smart Delivery”, which allows the console to always run the best possible version of the game for the console, Sony allows users of PS4 upgrade for free to an improved version of the game to PS5. Is this the end of remastered games as we knew them? It is not known, but in this article you will understand how this feature works in PS5 and what are the games with free upgrades for PS5.
How free PS5 upgrades work
Free game upgrades from PS4 all with PS5 will work differently depending on the company publishing the title.
