The concept of the connected home brings several devices to our home, from the well-known smart TV to the smart light bulb. Following these examples, we can also insert the smart refrigerator, such a device that can be managed via smartphone application.
And it's about the fridge LG Side by Side, the one that is full of technology, which we will talk about today. Shall we meet her?
Design
Starting from the outside of the fridge LG Side by Side, we have a brushed steel model with two “and a half” doors (we will explain later). On the upper side of the left door, there is a dispenser of water and ice, and on the upper side of the door on the right we have the Instaview Door-in-Door, as if it were a window for you to check what's inside the fridge without having to open it.
Dimensions are: 1790 mm high, 912 mm wide and 738 mm deep.

That "window“, actually works like a small door with a Glass panel, which when knocked twice, an internal light illuminates the food that is there. This feature was designed, mainly, to avoid opening it unnecessarily to check its contents, since this, in addition to letting cold air escape and generating energy consumption, can also wear out the food inside, due to temperature fluctuations.
In other words, it is not enough just to be a beautiful and elegant refrigerator, it also manages to deliver, even externally, a lot of technology to the user. I also reinforce that the Instaview Door-in-Door it only works on the top right of the fridge, that is, it doesn't show all the contents inside.

HygieneFresh+
Every now and then we are affected by some foods that end up leaving their odor on other foods inside the fridge, including drinks and sundries. This can be very unpleasant for some people. However, LG brought a technology to intervene precisely at this point, the HygieneFresh+.
This is a device that is located inside the refrigerator, through which it filters the air from the device, eliminating not only any possible unpleasant odor that may be inside the refrigerator, but also removing up to 99,99% of the bacteria present. With this, the interior of the refrigerator maintains a pleasant environment, leaving food safe and fresh for longer. HygieneFresh+ works on five different filters, each containing its specific function, namely:
- Dust, fungi and spores;
- Odors (absorption of acidic odors);
- Odors (absorption of alkaline odors);
- Bacteria;
- UVLED.
Ice & Water System
About dispenser which is on the left door, in addition to offering purified water, it is possible to release ice without opening any door. This feature helps to reduce the number of times the user opens the refrigerator daily, consuming less energy. The ice provided can be cubed or crushed.
Moist Balance Crisper
Fruits and vegetables should be kept in a specific place so they can stay as fresh as possible. In this case, the LG Side by Side refrigerator has a special drawer called Moist Balance Crisper, which offers better maintenance of moisture through its cavities, keeping food fresh for longer.

Storing wine is not always an easy task, as sometimes we can have the fridge full of items and food, but as the wine bottle usually takes up a lot of space, it is difficult to fit it there. However, in Side by Side, this problem is easily solved: at the top there is a kind of “grid” that holds up to four wine bottles, in a position designed to offer an ideal temperature for the drink.

In addition to the drawer, Moist Balancer Crisper, the LG Side by Side refrigerator still has another drawer called utility box. Located a little below the Wine Rack, this is ideal for food that is ready to be served. As in the example in the image, foods that can be accompanied with wine are ideal to be stored here. Other delicate items that are ready to eat, such as sushi, pie or ripe fruit, can be placed in this drawer.
LG ThinQ Technology
And ending the presentation of the LG Side by Side refrigerator, let's talk a little about the LG ThinQ, the artificial intelligence that is present in most — almost all — LG devices. It allows the LG ecosystem to communicate with each other, offering greater accessibility to devices via smartphone app. Operations and commands such as adjusting the internal temperature of the fridge or performing a diagnosis on how it should work are possible within the reach of your smartphone — and this can be done even if you are not at home.
