A Ghibli Fest 2025 will gather in a single event 22 Studio Ghibli films, screened in various Brazilian cities, including dubbed and subtitled screenings. The festival will cover everything from the studio's earliest works to more recent productions, allowing audiences access to a comprehensive program that includes titles by directors such as Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. What is Ghibli Fest?
A Ghibli Fest 2025 is a film festival that promises to bring the magic of Japanese animations to Studio Ghibli for Brazilian screens. Organized by Sato Company, a distributor recognized for bringing Asian content such as anime and tokusatsu to the country, the event will showcase 22 productions from the studio, including classics such as A Viagem de Chihiro e My Totoro FriendThis is a unique opportunity for both old and new fans to experience these masterpieces in theaters, both dubbed and subtitled.
The festival's program, which celebrates the 40 years of Studio Ghibli and the Sato Company, starts in September 18th, 2025.

The Tale of Princess Kaguya

The Animated Castle

The Kiki Delivery Service

The film sensitively portrays growing up, the search for identity, and the importance of friendship and persistence.
Lives in the Wind

Inspired by the life of engineer Jirō Horikoshi, responsible for developing aircraft during World War II, the film blends historical fact with fiction and dreamlike elements. The narrative follows Jirō from his childhood, when he dreamed of flying, to his adult life, when he dedicates himself to creating innovative machines amidst the hardships of early 20th-century Japan. At the same time, he experiences a touching love story with Naoko, marked by her fragile health.
Marnie's Memories

Shy and lonely, young Anna is sent to spend the summer in the countryside to improve her health. Grave of the Fireflies

Tales from Earthsea

Loosely based on Ursula K. Le Guin's literary saga, the film depicts a world in disarray, where dragons and humans no longer live in harmony. The World of Little Ones

Based on the book "The Borrowers," the film follows Arrietty, a little girl who is part of a family of tiny beings who live hidden under the floorboards of a house, discreetly stealing small objects from humans to survive. From Kokuriko Hill

Set in 1960s Japan, the film follows Umi, a student who runs a family boarding house while coping with the absence of her father, who disappeared in a naval accident. Whispers of the Heart

My Totoro Friend

Considered one of the greatest symbols of Studio Ghibli, the film follows sisters Satsuki and Mei, who move to the countryside while their mother is hospitalized. Ponyo: A Friendship from the Sea

Considered the great classic of Studio Ghibli, the film tells the story of Chihiro, a 10-year-old girl who, upon moving to a new town with her parents, ends up entering a magical world inhabited by spirits and gods. When her parents are transformed into pigs, she must work in a bathhouse run by the witch Yubaba to find a way to save them and return to the human world.
