the award BAFTA Game Awards 2023, which took place this Thursday (30), brought together the main electronic games of 2022 to celebrate and reward the best. As well as the The Game Awards, the BAFTA is recognized as one of the main awards of the year due to its prestige and tradition.
BAFTA Game Awards 2023
Through public voting, God of War Ragnarok (Santa Monica Studios/SIE) took the game of the year award, beating big titles like Elden Ring, Immortality e Horizon forbidden west. The game follows the story of Kratos and Atreus after the events of God of War (2018), where the actions of father and son trigger an age-old war against the most powerful gods of Asgard.
Besides God of War: Ragnarok, public favorites like Elden Ring e Immortality also received multiple awards in the Multiplayer, Original IP, and Narrative categories. Also during the broadcast of the Bafta Game Awards 2023, a special award was given to Shuhei Yoshida, producer of Sony Interactive Entertainment and one of those responsible for the success of the brand around the world. Yoshida was awarded the BAFTA Games Fellowship, one of the academy's highest honors for members who have revolutionized the gaming industry over the years.
