Google Maps now lets the user customize their locations with stickers.

Last Friday (18), the Google announced yet another update to the app Maps. Now you can customize your locations saved with stickers. Platform users will be able to choose to live in Igloos, tree houses and even a small yellow Submarine.

The announcement was made on the blog of Google Maps (read here). At In fact, the new functionality is an incentive for the user who uses the platform to register their home, work and other places of interest.

To make the change, just open the application from the Maps, click on the context menu in the upper right corner and go to “Your Places”. If you haven't already added your home or work address, you can add the location and by clicking "Edit", you can customize with a sticker your favorite location.

Let Google Maps help you with your itinerary

The company's argument is that by registering your home and work address, you can count on some very interesting benefits that the platform offers. if you use the Maps in driving mode, for example, with just one touch you can start navigating home. If you use public transport, the Maps will inform you with amazing accurately, when the next transfer will arrive.

After some time of use the Maps will “learn” the time you arrive and leave work and through the Google Now will tell you the average time to get home. And this is very important information for Google. The functionality that was considered by many a “perfumery”, but demonstrates that Google's strategy to bring more users to use the platform as an aid to people's daily itinerary, has become a priority.

Last week we talked here that in a previous update, Google Maps would show the user the time and fare of Uber and 99Taxis when searching for an itinerary. By making Google Maps an information hub, Google increases the number of hits they search within its ecosystem and with that comes an increase in the company's value in the market.
