A Google wants to prove that its browser is not only popular but also extremely secure. For this, the company announced during the security conference CanSecWest, in Canada, which will pay up to $ 1 million for those who can hack the Chrome.

According to the Chromium, the objective is to identify errors and vulnerabilities in the browser and, with that, learn how to improve it. “This allows us to better protect our users,” say Chris Evans and Schuh Justin of the security team at Google Chrome.

Prizes will be distributed according to 3 categories:

  • $60.000 – “Full Chrome exploit”;
  • $40,000 – “Partial Chrome exploit”;
  • $20,000 – “Consolation reward, Flash / Windows / other”.

Prizes can reach up to $ 1 million and will be sponsored by Google, regardless of category. In addition, all winners will receive a Chromebook.
