Google is braving the rough waters of Europe with its mapping service. For this, there is nothing better to integrate into the culture of the old world than to explore local legends and myths. Proof of this was the announcement that the company will help find the mythical Lake ness monster, a legendary creature that many claim to have seen (especially after consuming a few liters of the famous Scottish beer).

O MLoch Ness monster, also known simply as Nessie, it's a call cryptid aquatic, which was allegedly seen nose highlands of scotland. Its existence (or not) continues to raise debate among skeptics and believers, and it is one of the mysteries of cryptozoology. O Mmonster from Loch Ness is described as a kind of serpente ou reptile marine, similar to plesiosaur, a species prehistoric.

According to a information posted on the blog of Google, cameras were installed (the same type that map to the Street View) in a vessel in order to carry out a complete screening of the entire length of the lake. The company also brought in some divers equipped with underwater cameras (see video above).

Over the years, many people claimed to have found the monster. However, excluding occasional reports, the only material evidence of the existence of the Lake ness monster they were always blurry or too distant images to be conclusive. In addition, there are thousands of images that have been proven to have been manipulated on the computer. One image in particular has already been captured by the cameras of the Google (click on the link to take a virtual tour of Loch Ness).

In the image it is possible to observe a small elevation that insinuates to be the creature. Meanwhile, the very statement of the Google emphasizes the doubt, leaving the question in the air: "Bird, trunk or monster? ", without a trace of an enigmatic smile. Regarding the veracity of the image - which may have been the first screenshot de Nessie – we prefer to wait for a response from the monster experts.

The movement around the case coincides with the 81 years ofthe publication of photo more known of the creature, which frightened and intrigued the minds of generations for years, until it was unmasked as a fraud. In the image we certainly see what looks like a long-necked animal peeking out of the lake. Over the years, more images have surfaced (check out the gallery with the most notorious photos below) and spurred rumors surrounding the legend.

It is interesting to think how in an increasingly computerized society, there are few narratives that manage to survive on a technically incorrect and non-material basis. Certainly the legend about the Lake ness monster it is one of the longest-lived and enduring accounts in this regard, although no one in their right mind has any reason to believe in the creature's existence today.

Regardless of the success of the mission, the marketing strategy of the Google it was brilliant. After all, there are fewer ways to announce that you're a search giant than by organizing a search giant like this.
