Grindr gets a web version for use on PC; see how to access it, what features are available, and privacy precautions.

The famous application still didn't have a version for computers like tinder ou Bumble, right? But that ends with the release of the Grindr website, exclusive version for paid subscribers of the service. The platform recalls that it will still be necessary to have an account created via the application, but after that it will be possible to use it independently.

In addition to photos and full display of up to six profiles, it will be possible to chat with people. It is a good alternative for those who do not want to have the application on their smartphone due to the most diverse issues. Check out the first details.

The (long-awaited) Grindr Web

If you are a user of Grindr, you've certainly thought about what a desktop version of the dating app for men in the LGBTQIA+ community would look like, right?

And, after 14 years since its launch, we can say that this is finally a reality. In a statement sent to the Fast Company, the CEO of the app, George Arison, stated that six profiles at a time and larger photos will be displayed (due to the large screen).

The executive knows that younger people may not be as user of the Grindr website and, in fact, he really hopes that users between the ages of 30 and 50 — who have started meeting people through chat rooms and other computer platforms — will make the most of the novelty. He also pointed out that this release is just one of the new features that are on the way in the application.

Although it also works in browsers, anyone using Grindr for the computer will need to download the application at least once on their smartphone to create an account, if they haven't already. After the first login is performed on a computer, use can be made in the same way as the tinder e Bumble, as if the application were installed in your browser.

One way to avoid being “caught” using the application is to press the Esc key three times. A link to the Google home page will take less than two seconds.

Novelty is paid, at least for now

Those interested in using the new version of the relationship app will need, at least for the first time, to have one of the subscriptions offered by Grindr. The modality XTRA it can be purchased from R$ 17,99 (weekly) and goes up to R$ 139,95 (annual). Another way to access Grindr Web is by subscribing Unlimited, which costs from BRL 69,99 per month.

The purchase of the plans needs to be made through the application and your account can be connected through the login page, which is also now available. Executives have plans to roll this out to users with free accounts, but that shouldn't happen until the first tests are done. Ads are expected to be displayed on the web version as well so that the web version “pays for itself”.
